What started as a modest fundraising effort by three Lemont High School students – juniors Hope Conway, Olivia Matthews and Jenna Molaro – ultimately resulted in hundreds of Lemont students actively engaged in a humanitarian effort and tens of thousands of meals being shipped to a country across the world devastated by an earthquake. Their yearlong “Food Fight” fundraiser culminated with more than 65,000 meals being sent to Nepal through the non-profit organization Impact Lives. Read More

Lemont High School will host its annual 8th Grade Open House on Wednesday, November 4, from 6:30-8 p.m. The event provides an opportunity for current 8th grade students and their parents to meet Lemont High School teachers, counselors and administrators. Additionally, the school has scheduled its freshman placement exam for Saturday, November 14. Read More
Some records are barely broken, and others are shattered. The performance by Lemont High School’s students on the 2015 Advanced Placement (AP) Exams falls into the second category. Lemont had 72 students earn AP Scholar Award honors from the College Board, thanks to their performance on the college-level AP Exams during their prep careers. That total represents an increase of 53 percent from the school’s previous record number of honorees (47 in 2014). Read More
Lemont High School students performed well on the 2015 National Spanish Examinations (NSE), which were administered earlier this year. More than 50 students earned “medalist” status, including three who received chapter monetary awards for their efforts. Current senior Jacob Gasienica was honored with the NSE Junior Travel Award; Emma O’Leary ‘15 notched the school’s first NSE Senior Scholarship; and Katie Atherton ‘15 became the school’s first four-time NSE medalist. Current senior Misbah Chagpar became the school’s first two-time “Premio de Oro” honoree, and Lemont set a school record for “Premio de Oro” honors in one year. Read More
Lemont High School has had five students earn national medals for their performances on Le Grand Concours, an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). The students, who participated in the event last spring, all posted scores that ranked among the nation’s top quarter of participants. Read More
Lemont High School’s Student Services Department will host its annual College and Financial Aid Night on Thursday, October 8, in the school’s Performing Arts Center. However, this year attendees will get two valuable presentations in one visit. The program will feature Lewis University Director of Admission Ryan Cockerill from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and Chicago-area high school guidance counselor Frank Palmasani from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Attendees can choose to take in both presentations, or can choose to attend either presentation as their schedules allow. Lemont High School’s Class of 2016 has produced three National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists, the greatest number the school ever has had in one year. Seniors Spenser Bailey, Taylor Campos and Misbah Chagpar all earned National Merit Semifinalist honors thanks to their performance on either the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Seniors Jacob Gasienica and Clare Rachwalski also were honored by the National Merit Scholarship Program, as they were cited with National Merit Commended Students distinction. Read More
