Lemont High School and Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A will join forces for their annual “Mega Band” concert on Sunday, April 29. The event begins at 3 p.m. in Lemont High School’s Gymnasium. All community members are invited to attend this free musical event. Read More
Lemont High School will host its annual “Senior Citizen Spring Social” in conjunction with a dress rehearsal of its Spring Musical on Wednesday, May 9. A reception will be held from 5:45-6:45 p.m., prior to a 7 p.m. showing of Samuel French’s Grease. The event is free of charge and is geared toward adults ages 55 and over, giving them a chance to mingle with the school’s students. Due to the event’s increasing popularity and space limitations, attendance will be limited to 100 guests. Read More
Four Lemont High School students were honored with April “Student of the Month” accolades at the district’s Board of Education meeting on April 16. Included among the honorees were senior Anthony Bottini (English), junior Gabe Ptaszek (Industrial Technology), sophomore Ema Kaunas (Social Studies) and freshman Emily Reigle (Learning Resource Center). For the third time in four years, Lemont High School has recorded two medals at the state’s top drafting contest. The trio of seniors Aaron Bromberek and Kendrick Tran and junior Alex Fugiel equaled the best state finals finish in school history by placing as the runner-up in the Engineering Design competition at the 2018 Illinois Design Educators Association (IDEA) State Competition, which was contested at Illinois State University on April 14. Making his second state finals appearance in as many years, senior Jake Wilk placed third in the Architectural Board category. Read More
Lemont High School will transform into ‘Rydell High’ for three nights in May as the school’s Performing Arts Center will feature Samuel French’s Grease for nightly performances from Thursday, May 10, through Saturday, May 12. In conjunction with the musical, the school’s Art Department will be featuring its “ART is the Word” exhibit in “GALLERY 306.” Read More
Lemont High School students placed among the top ten in 19 of 20 categories in which they were entered at the 2018 Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference, which was held in Springfield, Ill., on April 6-7. The conference attracted more than 1,400 competitors from across the state. Lemont students combined to win three events, marking the sixth time in nine years the school has brought home multiple titles. Read More
Five Lemont High School seniors have made commitments to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Righthanded pitcher/third baseman Gia Cantarino has committed to play softball at Elmhurst College; Beata Drozda will participate in women’s cross country and track and field at Elmhurst College; golfer Jack Kramer will continue his career at Coastal Alabama Community College; Jacey Schickel will participate in women’s cross country and track and field at Saint Xavier University; and linebacker Caleb Young will be a preferred walk-on at Iowa State University.
