Advanced Baking (Fall 2010)

Advanced Baking

Grades Course Open To: 11-12

Credit: 0.5

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Food Preparation or consent of Division Chair

Fees: $20 lab fee

This course builds on concepts learned in Food Preparation, with students learning techniques utilized when making specialty baked goods. Included among the areas of study are cake baking and decorating, pies, tarts and specialty pastries, candy making, cookies and yeast breads. Students develop skills for baking in a lab setting.
