Four Lemont High School students were honored with April “Student of the Month” accolades at the district’s Board of Education meeting on April 17. The Lemont High School Educational Foundation has committed to supporting nine grants for more than $34,000 for the 2017-18 school year. Thanks to their efforts in sectional competition, two Lemont High School students have advanced to compete at the 2017 IHSA Journalism State Finals, which will be contested on the campus of Eastern Illinois University on Friday, April 28. Two Lemont High School student-athletes have solidified their plans to compete at the intercollegiate level. Setter/right side hitter Gemma Cantone has committed to play women’s volleyball at University of the Incarnate Word, while Kyla Owens will bowl at Drury University. Read More
Lemont High School senior Sami Schoell and sophomore Madisyn Lambrakis each earned all-state honors thanks to their performances at the 2017 IHSA Drama & Group Interpretation State Finals, which were contested at the Sangamon Auditorium on the campus of the University of Illinois-Springfield on March 24-25. Lemont was making its fourth appearance at the IHSA Drama & Group Interpretation State Finals overall, but its first since 2012. Read More
Lemont High School’s choirs will join with choirs from Old Quarry Middle School and River Valley Elementary School for a Spring Choral Concert on Wednesday, April 19. With its performance at the Joliet Junior College Regional on February 25, Lemont High School’s Mathletes squad fell just short of qualifying as a team for the 2017 Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) State Finals. However, Lemont did advance competitors in six events to take part in the ICTM Division 3AA State Finals, which will be contested on Saturday, May 6, on the campus of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
