What started as a modest fundraising effort by three Lemont High School students – juniors Hope Conway, Olivia Matthews and Jenna Molaro – ultimately resulted in hundreds of Lemont students actively engaged in a humanitarian effort and tens of thousands of meals being shipped to a country across the world devastated by an earthquake. Their yearlong “Food Fight” fundraiser culminated with more than 65,000 meals being sent to Nepal through the non-profit organization Impact Lives. Read More

Lemont High School’s Olivia Matthews finished as the runner-up in the Public Speaking II category at the 2015 Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference, which was held earlier this summer in Chicago. Matthews was second among more than 100 competitors in her competition, and was responsible for one of the school’s three top-10 finishes at the event, which drew competitors from across the nation. Lemont High School’s boys’ and girls’ tennis programs once again will host the “Serving for the Community” doubles tournament this summer. Proceeds from the event will benefit both of the school’s tennis programs and other local charities. Players of all ages and all skill levels are encouraged to show off their skills on the court. Lemont High School's Zach Wilkens recently became the second Lemont Special Olympics student-athlete in as many years to win a gold medal in state competition. Wilkens captured the 30-meter motorized slalom event at the Special Olympics State Games, which were contested on the campus of Illinois State University. Wilkens, who recently finished his sophomore year at Lemont, also earned a silver medal in the tennis ball throw. Read More

Lemont High School’s cheerleading program will host a golf outing and accompanying lunch with silent auction and raffles on Friday, June 26, at Village Greens Golf Course in Woodridge. The event will serve as a fundraiser for head coach Dave Erlenbaugh's program. Read More

University of Illinois lefthanded pitcher Tyler Jay – a 2012 Lemont High School graduate – has been selected by the Minnesota Twins with the sixth pick of the first round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft. An all-state performer as a prep player at Lemont, Jay has emerged as one of college baseball’s premier pitchers over the last two seasons, and has helped key an historic season for the Fighting Illini baseball program.
