In an effort to help its students identify their academic and vocational strengths and weaknesses, Lemont High School will continue to provide EPAS (EXPLORE, PLAN, ACT) testing for its students. EPAS testing will take place on Thursday, September 30, from 8-11:30 a.m.

The ACT Corporation recently released the average composite ACT scores for high schools across the country, and for the second straight year, Lemont High School has the opportunity to celebrate a record-setting performance by its students. The Class of 2010 posted an average composite ACT score of 22.7, the best in school history.

Lemont High School will honor the work of Lemont’s police, fire and rescue units when it hosts “Hometown Heroes” night in conjunction with the school’s football home opener on August 27. This annual event, which is in its seventh year, is put on by Mission Possible, a student-led organization whose primary goal is to make Lemont High School a better place. This year’s Hometown Heroes celebration will include a special ceremony in honor of Chris Wheatley ‘97, a Lemont grad and Chicago firefighter who lost his life battling a fire.

The Lemont High School Band Parents Association will hold its annual "Music Days" fundraiser on Friday, September 10, and Saturday, September 11. The school's band parents will collect donations on Lemont street corners and in front of Lemont businesses.

The Lemont High School Educational Foundation will host “Food for Thought: Enjoying Tastes Inspired by Stars of the Culinary World” on Saturday, October 16. The Foundation’s biggest annual fundraiser, the event will take place at The Narnia Estate, located at 16501 W. 135th Street in Lemont, beginning at 6 p.m.

Lemont High School Class of 2007 graduate Tom Lynn, who recently completed his sophomore year on the Saint Leo University men’s golf squad, has been selected to the Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar team, A total of 200 student-athletes earned the honor from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), including just 55 from NCAA Division II.
