The June meeting of the Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education has been rescheduled. The meeting, which originally was scheduled for June 17, now will take place on Monday, June 24. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the District 210 Board Room.

Lemont High School’s girls’ soccer team has earned the program’s third state trophy in five seasons. The Indians settled for fourth place after falling to Fenwick by a 1-0 score in the third-place game of the 2013 IHSA Class 2A State Finals, which were contested at North Central College in Naperville. Head coach Rick Prangen’s squad previously earned a runner-up finish at the 2009 IHSA Class 2A State Finals, and was third at the 2011 event.

Making its third state finals appearance in five seasons, Lemont High School’s girls’ soccer team could not overcome a two-goal halftime deficit, and eventually fell by a 3-1 count to Prairie Ridge in the first semifinal match of the 2013 IHSA Class 2A State Finals, which are being contested at North Central College in Naperville. Head coach Rick Prangen’s squad will square off against Fenwick in Class 2A’s third-place match, which will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1.

For the third time in five seasons, Lemont High School’s girls’ soccer program finds itself just two steps away from its first-ever state title. Head coach Rick Prangen’s Indians topped host Normal West, 3-1, in the IHSA Super-Sectional round on Tuesday, May 28, to earn a berth to the 2013 IHSA Class 2A Girls’ Soccer State Finals, which will be contested at North Central College on Friday, May 31, and Saturday, June 1.

Lemont High School held a Graduation ceremony for its Class of 2013 on Friday, May 24, in the school's Gymnasium. More than 350 students were awarded their diplomas.

The Lemont High School English Department has chosen its required summer reading selections, as well as its “One Book, One School” choice, for the 2013-14 school year. Every Lemont High School student is required to read the “One Book, One School” selection over the summer, and prior to next fall, students will read Divergent, written by Veronica Roth.
