Lemont High School junior tennis player Grace Horky’s effort in sectional competition has earned her an invitation to the state finals. Horky finished fourth in singles competition at the IHSA Joliet Catholic Sectional on October 14, clinching her trip to the 2017 IHSA Class 1A Girls’ Tennis State Finals, which will be contested from Thursday, 19, through Saturday, October 21, and hosted by Districts 211, 214 and 220. Lemont High School is readying to welcome the community for its fall choral “Pops” concert at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, in the school’s Performing Arts Center. The school’s choir and A Cappella Choir both will perform. Both groups are under the direction of Lemont High School music teacher Stephanie Cesaroni. Read More

Four Lemont High School students were honored with October “Student of the Month” accolades at the district’s Board of Education meeting on October 16. Included among the honorees were senior McKenna Gardner (Physical Education), junior Julia Popper (Art), sophomore Tyler Filippini (World Languages) and freshman Mary Kate Arundel (Family & Consumer Sciences). For the first time in school history, a Lemont High School student has earned National AP Scholar accolades prior to graduating from high school. Senior Martynas Juskelis is one of a school-record five students to earn the top honor awarded by the College Board for performance on the college-level Advanced Placement exams. Recent graduates Mira Antonopoulos ‘17, Michael Cottrell ‘17, Marius Mereckis ‘17 and James Sliwa ‘17 all have been cited as National AP Scholars as well. Read More

Making its fourth straight state finals appearance, and ninth in 11 seasons, Lemont High School’s boys’ golf team placed ninth of 12 teams at the 2017 IHSA Class 2A State Finals, which were contested on October 13-14 at Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University in Normal. Senior Raymond Sullivan was the team’s top finisher and became the first golfer in school history to play in four IHSA State Finals events. Read More

For the first time in school history, two Lemont High School students from the same graduating class have scored a 36 on the ACT exam. Senior Natalie Hartl became the most recent to achieve the feat, doing so on the most recent testing date in September. Hartl’s classmate, Anna Ford, scored a 36 on the June administration of the ACT. Hartl is just the fifth student in school history to record a 36 on the ACT. Read More

Lemont High School’s boys’ golf program is headed back to state finals competition for the fourth straight season, and the ninth time in 11 years. Thanks in part to seniors Jack Kramer and Raymond Sullivan, who tied for second individually, head coach Mark Hollatz’s squad finished as the runner-up at the IHSA Lemont Sectional on October 9 to clinch its state finals berth, Lemont will participate in the 2017 IHSA Boys’ Golf Class 2A State Finals on Friday, October 13, and Saturday, October 14, at Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University in Normal. Sullivan will become the first golfer in school history to play in four IHSA State Finals events. Read More
