Lemont High School’s cheerleading squad improved its performance on the second day of state finals competition, as a mistake-free performance earned the Indians a third-place finish in the Medium Division of the 2012 IHSA Cheerleading State Finals, which were contested at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill. Lemont High School’s cheerleading program still is in the hunt for a fourth consecutive state title, thanks to a solid first-day performance in the Medium Division of the 2012 IHSA Cheerleading State Finals. For the third straight year, a team from Lemont High School has placed among the top performing squads at one of the area’s top robotics competitions. Seniors Travis Burke and Kyle Tulipano and juniors Szymon Krzeptowski-Mucha and Bryan Shamasko teamed to finish as the runner-up in the ‘Expert Division’ at the 2012 Joliet Junior College Robotic Engineering Challenge on January 27. Serving as host of the inaugural Central Northern Area Conference regional on January 21, Lemont High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) dominated the competition, taking first place in 15 of the 23 events it entered.
