Lemont High School mathematics teacher Julie Johnson has been selected as a 2017 Science Communication Fellow and will sail aboard Exploration Vessel (E/V) Nautilus during its 2017 expedition. Johnson will join the Corps of Exploration aboard E/V Nautilus from July 16-29 as it explores the Channel Islands off the coast of California. Read More

Making its fifth state finals appearance in nine seasons, head coach Rick Prangen’s girls’ soccer program posted a fourth-place finish at the 2017 IHSA Class 2A Girls’ Soccer State Finals, which were contested on June 2-3 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on the campus of North Central College in Naperville. Lemont lost in a shootout to Wheaton Academy in a semifinal game on June 2, and fell by a 3-1 score to Burlington Central in the third-place game on June 3. Read More

Since 2009, odd years on the calendar have corresponded with state finals berths for Lemont High School’s girls’ soccer program. Thanks to a late goal from a first-year player, 2017 is no different. Head coach Rick Prangen’s Indians edged host Hinsdale South, 1-0, at the IHSA Hinsdale South Super-Sectional on May 30 to earn a trip to the 2017 IHSA Class 2A Girls’ Soccer State Finals, which will be contested on June 2-3 at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on the campus of North Central College in Naperville. Lemont will make its fifth state finals appearance since 2009, and is seeking its first state title in girls’ soccer. Read More

Making his state finals debut, Lemont High School sophomore David Lehenbauer reached the final round of the high jump at the 2017 IHSA Class 3A Boys’ Track and Field State Finals, which were contested on May 26-27 at O’Brien Stadium on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. He became just the second student-athlete in program history to advance to state finals competition in the high jump. Read More
