Members of Lemont High School's Class of 2016 are encouraged to complete the Local Scholarship Application, which is now available on the school's Web site. This single application will be distributed to a variety of Lemont-area organizations and businesses that generously donate funds for students to use to defray the cost of higher education. Read More
On Saturday, March 5, Lemont High School will usher in its second class of Alumni Hall of Fame inductees. The Hall of Fame honorees – Leo Cattoni ‘69, Terry Duffy ‘73 and Dr. Sam Forzley ‘77 – will be recognized at the school’s annual Band Benefit Dinner Dance, which will be held at The Willowbrook Ballroom. Lemont High School can claim three National Merit Scholarship Finalists in one year for the first time in school history, as seniors Spenser Bailey, Taylor Campos and Misbah Chagpar all recently were cited with the honor by the National Merit Scholarship Program. These three were eligible for finalist status thanks to their performance on either the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Lemont previously had two National Merit Scholarship Finalists in the same year in 2009 and 2011. Read More
Lemont High School’s cheerleading squad finished as the runner-up at the 2016 IHSA Medium Division Cheerleading State Finals, which were contested on February 5-6 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill. The Indians, who have won four state titles since 2009, earned the program’s 10th state trophy in 11 seasons and its fourth state runner-up finish. Fellow South Suburban Conference school Oak Forest won the state championship. Read More
With nine state trophies and four state championships, Lemont High School’s cheerleading squad is no stranger to being at or near the top of the standings in state finals competition. The top of the standings is exactly where head coach Dave Erlenbaugh’s squad finds itself after the first day of competition at the 2016 IHSA Medium Division Cheerleading State Finals, which are being contested at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill. Lemont High School’s Junior Class will host the “Mr. LHS” contest on Friday, February 5, at 7:30 p.m. in the school’s Performing Arts Center. The event will pit male students from the junior and senior classes against each other as they compete for the “Mr. LHS” crown. Proceeds from the “Mr. LHS” contest will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Juniors Kyle Marks and Siena Schuth will serve as hosts for the event, which will include four rounds of competition. Read More
Three Lemont High School seniors have committed to play college football beginning in Fall 2016. Wide receiver/defensive back Jeremy Fejedelem will play at the United States Air Force Academy; offensive lineman Casey O’Brien will play at Missouri State University; and defensive back/linebacker Josh Rogers will play at Davenport University.
