Graduation ceremony for Lemont High School's Class of 2017 set for May 26

5/16/2017

Lemont High School will hold a Graduation ceremony for its Class of 2017 on Friday, May 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the school's Gymnasium. Attendance for this event is limited to those individuals who have a ticket for entry.

Each student who will take part in Graduation is allotted five tickets for seating in the Gymnasium. Seating will be available on the main floor and in the bleachers. Students also are given two tickets for seats in the Performing Arts Center, where the Graduation ceremony will be broadcast on closed circuit television.

Guests with special seating needs are asked to call (630) 243-3222 no later than Tuesday, May 23, to detail those needs. Those individuals should arrive at Graduation no later than 6:15 p.m. and will be seated (along with one other ticket holder) prior to the doors opening to the rest of ticket holders. General seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Professional ushers will direct guests to their seats. Parking is available in all five of the school’s lots, as well as the parking garage.

Directions to Lemont High School

Lemont High School’s administration has made many efforts to ensure that the Class of 2017's Graduation ceremony has the dignity befitting commencement, and that all attendees are treated to an enjoyable experience.

In order for all participants and guests to enjoy the ceremony, Lemont High School requests that any gift-giving be reserved for after the ceremony. Balloons, flowers and gifts tend to block the view of others and disrupt the ceremony. Anyone bringing these items to the ceremony will be asked to take them back to his or her car.

Parents and family members will be able to meet their graduates after the ceremony in the Field House.

After the ceremony, Lemont High School will host “Project Graduation,” an all-night, chemical-free party that will provide members of the Class of 2017 with an outing that is both safe and fun on the night of their Graduation. Held on campus, the party is organized by parents, faculty and members of the community, and is intended to not only provide a good time, but also reduce the chance of any student being involved in an alcohol- or drug-related accident. Project Graduation offers a variety of supervised activities, as well as food, music and raffles. Check-in for Project Graduation begins at 10:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center entrance, and no student will be admitted after 11:30 p.m.
