Tickets are on sale now and are $10 if purchased in advance ($15 in person at the door). Admission is free for ages 14 and under, and also free for Lemont High School students with a valid student ID. Tickets may be purchased at the link above.

Mike and Joe is one of the nation’s top rock cover bands. Its sets typically feature hits from artists ranging from U2 and Maroon 5, to Justin Timberlake and the Dave Matthews Band. While its shows most often feature hits from the 90s through today, Mike and Joe throws in songs from classic rock royalty such as The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac as well. The LHSEF is excited to welcome Mike and Joe’s stable of loyal fans to the Taste of Lemont in 2017!

The Taste of Lemont is the LHSEF’s most important annual fundraiser, and it again will be open to all ages. Parents, students, younger siblings, community members .... all are invited! More than 2,500 attendees made the 2016 Taste of Lemont a record-setting event for the LHSEF, and 2017’s should be even better!

Participating food and beverage vendors will be announced later this month. As with previous years, the format will be typical of a “Taste of...” event, with food tickets purchased on site and redeemed with the vendors. Each restaurant will have multiple options on its menu, and no food item will cost more than four tickets ($4).

“Food for Thought: Taste of Lemont” will be a rain or shine event. In addition to outstanding food and beverages and live music from Mike and Joe, the Taste of Lemont will feature a “Split the Pot” fundraiser.

Individuals who do not wish to purchase tickets online should contact LHSEF board member Janette Acton at either actonjanette@comcast.net or (630) 567-2640.

In April, the LHSEF awarded more than $34,000 in grants to aid Lemont High School’s students, faculty and staff during the 2017-18 school year. The Foundation has awarded nearly $400,000 in grants to aid Lemont High School’s students, faculty and staff since 2007. A primary reason it has been able to provide that level of support is the success of the “Food for Thought” series.

Proceeds from “Food for Thought” benefit the LHSEF, whose mission is to partner with the community to make lasting improvements to Lemont High School that will enhance the total educational experience for all of its students. The Foundation funds and supports programs and opportunities that aid students’ growth, both academically and as citizens of the Lemont community. The Foundation is a not-for-profit charitable organization. All gifts to the Foundation are tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law.
