Three Lemont student-athletes make college commitments

Three Lemont High School seniors have made commitments to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Midfielder/defender Jacqueline Aleman has committed to play women’s soccer at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point; wide receiver Austin Nagel has signed a National Letter of Intent to play football at Illinois State University; and libero Tessa Scarlati will play women’s volleyball at Olivet Nazarene University.

  • Three-time letterwinner for head coach Rick Prangen
  • Expected to be a major contributor as a senior in Spring 2018
  • Has played in 67 matches over three seasons, totaling 46 points on 12 goals and 22 assists
  • Lemont has posted a composite record of 55-13-8 during her career, won three South Suburban Conference titles, and twice advanced to the IHSA Class 2A State Finals
  • Earned All-SSC honors and All-Sectional accolades from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association as a junior in 2017
  • Started all 26 matches and posted career highs with six goals, 10 assists and 22 points
  • Was second on the team in assists, and fifth in goals and points
  • Also ranked third in minutes played, playing more than 80 percent of the team’s minutes
  • Lemont went 20-3-3, won the SSC title, and finished fourth at the IHSA Class 2A State Finals
  • Played in 14 matches as a sophomore in 2016, finishing second on the team with six assists and adding one goal
  • The Indians went 17-4-2 and won SSC and IHSA Regional championships
  • Debuted on Lemont’s varsity squad as a freshman in 2015, playing in all 27 games
  • Totaled 16 points on five goals and six assists
  • Lemont went 18-6-3, won the SSC title, and finished fourth at the IHSA Class 2A State Finals
  • Plays travel soccer for the LG Celtics
  • Also a member of the girls’ basketball program
  • High Honor Roll student
  • Will play for head coach Dawn Crow at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, an NCAA Division III institution that is located in Stevens Point, Wis., and is a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Crow guided the Pointers to 9-8-2 record and a fifth-place finish in the WIAC standings this fall.

Autin Nagel - Career Highlights

  • Two-time letterman for head coach Bret Kooi
  • In two varsity seasons, posted 79 receptions for 1142 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging 14.5 yards per catch
  • Led the team in receptions, yards receiving and touchdown receptions two straight years
  • Helped the Indians to a 21-3 record, two South Suburban Conference-Blue Division titles, and two IHSA Quarterfinal appearances
  • Earned All-SSC and Joliet Herald News all-area accolades as a senior in 2017
  • Posted career highs with 50 catches and 620 yards receiving, tied a career high with eight touchdown receptions, and averaged 12.4 yards per catch
  • Lemont went 10-2, posted a perfect 6-0 record in SSC Blue play, and reached the IHSA Class 5A Quarterfinals
  • Cited as an All-SSC performer as a junior in 2016
  • Tallied 29 catches and 522 yards receiving, caught eight touchdown passes, and posted a career-best 18.0 yards per catch
  • The Indians went 11-1, posting a perfect 9-0 record during the regular season, and won the SSC Blue title before appearing in the IHSA Class 6A Quarterfinals
  • Mu Alpha Theta inductee
  • High Honor Roll student
  • Will play for head coach Brock Spack at Illinois State University, which plays at the NCAA Football Championship Series level, is located in Normal, Ill., and is a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Spack led the Redbirds to a 6-5 record this fall, and guided the program to three consecutive postseason berths from 2014-16.

Tessa Scarlati - Career Highlights

  • Two-time letterwinner for head coach Chris Zogata
  • In two varsity seasons, totaled 635 digs, 815 serve receptions, 235 service points and 63 aces
  • Averaged 5.00 serve receptions and 3.90 digs per game over 163 career games
  • Led the team in serve receptions, serve receptions per game, digs and digs per game each of her varsity seasons
  • Twice named as her team’s “Best Defensive Player”
  • Helped the Indians to a composite 46-27 record and two South Suburban Conference championships
  • Earned All-SSC honors as a senior in 2017
  • Led the team and posted career highs in serve receptions (432), digs (368) and digs per game (4.18)
  • Also paced the squad in serve receptions per game (4.91), was second on the team with 161 service points, and landed a career-high 47 service aces
  • Lemont went 24-13, won the SSC title, and finished as an IHSA Regional runner-up
  • Led the team with a career-high 5.11 serve receptions per game as a junior in 2017
  • Also paced the squad in serve receptions (383), digs (267) and digs per game (3.56)
  • The Indians posted a 22-14 record, which included a perfect 13-0 mark in SSC play, and finished as an IHSA Regional runner-up
  • Plays club volleyball for 1st Alliance
  • National Honor Society and National English Honor Society inductee
  • High Honor Roll student
  • Will play for head coach Brenda Williams at Olivet Nazarene University, an NAIA institution that is located in Bourbonnais, Ill., and is a member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Williams has won nearly 600 matches in her 22 seasons, and led the Tigers to a 26-12 record and a conference runner-up finish in 2017.
