Lemont High School welcomes more than 40 in inaugural Rho Kappa class

Lemont High School welcomed 42 students into Rho Kappa in the chapter's first year

Lemont High School recently welcomed its first class of inductees into the school’s chapter of the Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society. Standout students from both the junior and senior classes - 42 students in all - were welcomed into Rho Kappa.

Rho Kappa is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of social studies. Any accredited public high school or non-secondary school can apply for a local chapter. Rho Kappa provides national recognition and opportunities for exploration in social studies.

To be eligible for induction into the school’s chapter of Rho Kappa, students must: have a weighted cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better; have a weighted grade point average of 3.50 or better in social studies and history courses; complete a written application; and obtain a recommendation from a Lemont High School Social Studies teacher.
