Choirs from Lemont High School, District 113A to come together for concert


Lemont High School’s choirs will join with choirs from Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A for a Spring Choral Concert on Wednesday, April 17. The event begins at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. All community members are invited to attend this free musical event.

The high school’s choir and those from Old Quarry Middle School and River Valley Elementary School all will be performing, as will the high school’s A Cappella ensemble. The high school choirs both are under the direction of Stephanie Cesaroni, the Old Quarry choir is headed up by Micah Brandhandler and Jenna Treanor, and River Valley’s choir is directed by Treanor and Allyson Zeglen.

Lemont High School’s choir will perform a variety of pieces, including “Kyrie Eleison” by Roger Emerson, “Hey. Ho, Nobody at Home” arranged by Milton Dieterich, “Glow” adapted by Emily Crocker, “After Harvest” from The Longest Nights by Timothy C. Takach, “Jambo” arranged by Jacob Narverud, “Canon (fuga a tre) by Michael Praetorius, “Black is the Color” by Andrea Klouse, “Now is the Month of Maying” arranged by Jerry Wesley Harris, and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” arranged by Ed Lojeski.

The A Cappella ensemble will entertain with “Can’t Help Falling in Love/This is Gospel” arranged by senior Kirsten Kash.

Junior Gabrielle Salomon, who received a “1” ranking at the IHSA Solo & Ensemble Sectional, will perform “The Merry Widow Waltz” from Franz Lehar’s The Merry Widow.

Old Quarry’s choir will perform “Riversong” by Andy Beck, “Whisper!” by Greg Gilpin and “Yonder Come Day” arranged by Judith Cook Tucker, while River Valley will feature “It’s in My Desk” by Mary Lynn Lightfoot.

All choirs will combine for a performance of “Zuka Zama” arranged by Audrey Snyder.

Directions to Lemont High School

Attendees are encouraged to park in the Performing Arts Center Lot, Parking Garage or the West Lot, all of which are accessible off of Julia Street.
