Whom will the slipper fit? Find out from Thursday, May 9, through Saturday, May 11, as Lemont High School’s Performing Arts Center stage features nightly performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. In conjunction with the musical, the school’s Art Department will feature its latest exhibit – “It’s Possible: Intention to Depiction” – in “GALLERY 306.”

With the original book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, original music by Richard Rodgers, and new book by Douglas Carter Beane, all performances of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, which will be produced by Dave Nommensen, will begin at 7 p.m., and tickets are on sale now for each performance. All tickets are $15, and all seats in the Performing Arts Center - including the balcony and main level - are reserved seats.

Individuals wishing to purchase tickets in advance must do so online and pay with a credit card. In addition to skipping the ticket lines the night of the show, purchasing tickets in advance allows patrons to choose their own seats and print their tickets at home. Tickets may be purchased via the link at the top of the page.

Pending availability, tickets may be purchased at the door each evening via credit card or with cash or check. For more ticket information, call (630) 243-3286.

In this 2013 Broadway version of the show, young Ella lives in the care of her wicked, self-absorbed stepmother, Madame, and Madame’s two daughters, Charlotte and Gabrielle. Ella’s only friends are the animals in the woods, “crazy Marie” and the revolutionary student Jean-Michel. Meanwhile, Prince Topher is trying to find himself and learn his place in the kingdom. When his scheming advisor, Sebastian, suggests throwing a ball so the Prince can meet potential brides, Ella and Topher’s different worlds come together. Expect the unexpected in this clever retelling of the beloved fairy tale. This contemporary take on the classic tale features some of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, as well as some new characters and surprising twists.

Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella will be directed by Paula Smith and choreographed by Jeni Donahue, with orchestral direction by Matt Doherty and vocal direction by Stephanie Cesaroni. Brett Baleskie will head up set design and construction and Matt Davis will serve as the backstage technical supervisor. Designers for the production will include Patrick Heffernan (lighting), Tom Kieffer (costumes), Bob Kuper (make-up) and Max Thalhammer (sound). Mary Mauch will serve as the accompanist, while Dawn Scuderi will serve as the front-of-house manager. DJ Long designs the posters, cast shirts and program covers.

“GALLERY 306” debuted in Fall 2017 and has hosted student art shows corresponding with the fall and winter plays and spring musicals. “It’s Possible: Intention to Depiction” will be juried by alumna Haley Simone ‘11. “GALLERY 306” will be open from 5:45-6:45 p.m. nightly from May 9-11, spotlighting a variety of outstanding work from Lemont High School students.
