|Lemont senior Brittney Klosak, who spent two years on head coach Tim Plotke's varsity squad, will run women's cross country at Quincy University.
Lemont High School senior Brittney Klosak
has committed to participate in women’s cross country at Quincy University beginning in Fall 2012.
During Klosak’s two varsity seasons, head coach Tim Plotke’s
girls’ cross country squad made consecutive IHSA Class 2A Girls’ Cross Country State Finals appearances and earned one South Suburban Conference-Blue Division title. Her career-best time at the 3-mile distance was 20:11.
As a senior, Klosak helped Lemont to a conference title by finishing 13th at the 2011 SSC Blue meet. The Indians were the runners-up at the IHSA Regional, then were among the top five at the IHSA Sectional to earn their fifth straight state finals berth. She was one of the team’s top five runners at the 2011 IHSA State Finals, just missing her personal best while covering the 3-mile course in 20:13.
Klosak also was a member of the 2010 Lemont squad that advanced to IHSA State Finals. The Indians tied the program’s best finish ever at the event when they placed 16th in the team standings.
A high honor roll performer and National Honor Society student, Klosak will run for head coach Lee Osborn at Quincy, an NCAA Division II institution located in Quincy, Ill., and a member of the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
