Lemont’s freshman class set for fundraiser at Front Street Cantina on Sept. 27

Lemont High School’s Class of 2016 will host a fundraiser at Front Street Cantina in Lemont on Thursday, September 27. Students, parents and community members all are invited to enjoy a meal at Front Street Cantina any time that day, as the restaurant generously has committed to donating 10 percent of its receipts to benefit the freshman class. Special guests and contests will begin at 5 p.m. The event will provide an opportunity for Class of 2016 students and their parents to socialize and meet the class sponsors and class officers.

Besides appealing food and drink options being available, several activities will highlight the day. Business teacher John Aspel and art teacher Ryan Hennebry, who serve as co-sponsors of the freshman class, will be put to work as celebrity servers, and freshman class officers will serve as guest hosts. One hundred percent of the tips provided to the guest servers and guest hosts will benefit the freshman class.

The adjoining courtyard will include a “bags” tournament ($5 entry fee), and one lucky attendee will walk away the winner from a 50/50 cash pot. Last year’s winner took home a share of $150!

The evening’s musical entertainment will begin at 6 p.m. and be provided by Lemont High School senior and Tate Music Group recording artist Conor Matthews.

Front Street Cantina is located at 319 Front Street in Lemont. Its hours on Thursdays are 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
