From July 18-20, hundreds of people attended Little Mountain Community Theatre’s debut production, “The Wizard of Oz.” The show was very entertaining and brought together people – including the actors, musicians, crew, and the audience itself – from a variety of surrounding communities to Lemont High School’s Performing Arts Center. This 850+ seat venue truly belongs to the community. Since opening in Spring 2008, it has played host to a range of events, ranging from concerts to park district events to Lemont High School theater and music productions. Read More

Lemont boys’ basketball program to benefit from golf fundraiser

10/11/2012

The Lemont High School boys’ basketball program will host a golf outing and accompanying dinner with silent auction and raffles on Saturday, October 20, at Broken Arrow Golf Club in Lockport. The event will serve as a fundraiser for head coach Rick Runaas’ program.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. on October 20, and rounds of golf will tee off at 11 a.m. and follow a scramble format. Contests will be held throughout the day, including ‘Closest to the Pin’ and ‘Longest Drive’ competitions. The dinner, silent auction and raffles will begin at 4 p.m.

A $100 ticket will provide an individual golfer with a round of golf, cart, lunch on the course, and dinner. Foursomes are $400, and ‘dinner only’ tickets are $40. Supporters of the Lemont High School boys’ basketball program do not have to participate in the golf outing in order to attend the dinner and auction.

Broken Arrow Golf Club is located at 16325 W. Broken Arrow Drive in Lockport.

Lemont’s boys’ basketball enjoyed an historic renaissance during the 2011-12 season. Runaas guided his squad to a 25-3 record, and the Indians shared the South Suburban Conference title thanks to their 13-1 league record. The squad’s 25 wins marked the second-most in any season in the history of the program. Lemont also finished as champion of the 2011 Lincoln-Way Invitational and as a 2012 IHSA Regional runner-up.
