Lemont’s boys’ basketball enjoyed an historic renaissance during the 2011-12 season. Runaas guided his squad to a 25-3 record, and the Indians shared the South Suburban Conference title thanks to their 13-1 league record. The squad’s 25 wins marked the second-most in any season in the history of the program. Lemont also finished as champion of the 2011 Lincoln-Way Invitational and as a 2012 IHSA Regional runner-up.
