On Wednesday, April 23, and Thursday, April 24, Lemont High School juniors will join their peers from across the State of Illinois to take the Prairie State Achievement Exam. School will begin at the regular time both days, and students will be dismissed following the end of testing (12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, 11:55 a.m. on Thursday). A snack will be provided mid-morning on both days to students taking the PSAE. Read More
Lemont High School’s Speech team will host “Faculty Idol 8” on Friday, April 11, at 7 p.m. in the school’s Performing Arts Center. The event will pair students and staff members in a musical competition, and money raised will benefit the school’s award-winning speech program. The current line-up includes a range of students and several faculty, including defending champion and Music teacher Matt Doherty - the first three-time Faculty Idol champion. Read More
Registration now is open for Lemont High School’s Summer Sports Academy, which provides enrichment opportunities in a variety of sports for students of all ages. Some of the camps are geared toward students who will be enrolled at Lemont High School in Fall 2014, but others are for students who will be in kindergarten through eighth grade. Lemont High School not only will be represented in the state’s top drafting contest for the sixth time in seven years, but the school has advanced a record three participants to state finals competition in 2014. At the Illinois Drafting Educators Association (IDEA) Regional Drafting Competition on Friday, March 7, seniors Tom Janik and Rafal Krzysiak took the top two spots, respectively, in the Assembly Modeling division, while senior Katie Lynch won the Architectural Board category. Lemont High School’s Mathletes squad earned a berth to the 2014 Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) State Finals by winning the Joliet area regional competition on Saturday, February 22, at Joliet Junior College. Lemont, which topped second-place Plainfield East by nearly 100 points, will compete in the ICTM Division 3AA State Finals on Saturday, May 3, on the campus of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
