Lemont High School’s Student Services Department will host Post-Secondary Planning Night from 6:30-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 12. The evening will include a FAFSA completion help session, presentations on both college selection and admissions and financial aid, and a variety of breakout sessions. Lemont High School – which just was cited as a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School – will host its annual 8th Grade Open House on Wednesday, November 29, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The event provides an opportunity for current 8th grade students and their parents/guardians to meet Lemont High School teachers, counselors and administrators. Additionally, the school has scheduled its freshman placement exam for Saturday, December 2. Read More

Since 1982, the United States Department of Education has honored the nation’s most outstanding schools through the National Blue Ribbon Schools program. Earlier this afternoon, U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced that Lemont High School is one of 342 schools to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2017, having been selected as an Exemplary High Performing School. A school-record 16 Lemont High School seniors have been recognized as National Merit Commended Students thanks to their performance on the 2016 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT). The honorees include Alexander Bacon, Ashley Belsan, Nathaniel Blanco, Beata Drozda, Adam Fugiel, Lily Goodman, Reece Graham, Natalie Hartl, Kara Kirkus, Anthony Kostrubala, Alexander Paulius, Lauren Pengiel, Saher Rashid, Arjun Reddigari, Joshua Reitz and Aaron Swenson. For the second straight year, Lemont High School senior Alex Paulius posted a top ten finish at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference, which was contested over the summer in Anaheim, Calif. Eight Lemont students competed across seven categories at the 2017 FBLA National Leadership Conference. Lemont’s FBLA chapter has seen students finish among the nation’s top ten three straight years. The newest members of Lemont High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame will be introduced at a ceremony on Sunday, September 17, at Crsytal Grand Banquets in Lemont. Included among the hall of fame’s 13th induction class will be Tammy (Jordan) Richter ‘94, Dave Molk ‘07 and Graham Pocic ‘08. Read More
