Head coach John St. Clair has led his team to plenty of success over the last decade-plus, boasting individual state champions and advancing as a team to the state finals on multiple occasions. However, Lemont High School’s wrestling program never has had as successful of a day as it did at the IHSA Class 2A Thornridge Sectional. Six wrestlers won individual sectional titles and seven finished among the top two in their respective classes to earn berths to the 2017 IHSA Class 2A Wrestling Individual State Finals, which will be contested from February 16-18 at the State Farm Center on the campus of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. On Saturday, March 4, Lemont High School will welcome its third class of Alumni Hall of Fame inductees. The Hall of Fame honorees – Albert Albrecht ‘59, Mary Lou Carlson ‘71 and Norma (Landgren) Johnson ‘38 – will be recognized at the school’s annual Band Benefit Dinner Dance, which will be held at DiNolfo’s Banquets in Homer Glen. Lemont High School’s cheerleading squad entered the second day of state finals competition knowing that if it performed its highly difficult routine to its potential, a state title could be in its sights. Head coach Dave Erlenbaugh’s Indians came through with the best performance of the year at the perfect time, earning them the 2017 IHSA Medium Division State Championship at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill. Lemont captured the program’s fifth state championship, and earned a state trophy for the 11th time in 12 seasons. Read More
Members of Lemont High School's Class of 2017 are encouraged to complete the Local Scholarship Application, which is now available on the school's Web site. This single application will be distributed to a variety of Lemont-area organizations and businesses that generously donate funds for students to use to defray the cost of higher education. Read More
Four Lemont High School seniors have committed to play college football beginning in Fall 2017. Defensive lineman Jordan Brown will play for the United States Air Force Academy; tight end Logan Christopherson is headed to the University of Missouri; wide receiver Steve Fleming has committed to the University of Dayton; and offensive lineman Caleb Quade will play at Benedictine University. Head coach Jordan Fandrey’s Lemont High School’s Dance squad posted another program-best finish at the 2017 IHSA Competitive Dance State Finals, which were contested at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill., on January 27-28. The Indians finished 14th of 25 teams at the competition, which improved on last year’s 15th-place finish and is the program’s best state finals finish since Competitive Dance became an IHSA-sponsored sport during the 2012-13 school year. Lemont High School’s cheerleading squad finished third in the Medium Division at the IHSA Andrew Sectional on January 28, securing the program’s 12th straight state finals berth. The Indians will be gunning for their fifth state championship when they compete at the 2017 IHSA Medium Division Cheerleading State Finals, which will be contested at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill., on Friday, February 3, and Saturday, February 4. Lemont has won 10 state trophies in 11 previous state finals appearances, and never has finished lower than fourth in state finals competition. Read More
