Lemont High School will dismiss today - Tuesday, February 2 - at 1:05 p.m. due to a power outage. A ComEd transformer was hit by lightning, which is continuing to cause intermittent power outages in various parts of the building. Read More
All after-school practices, events and meetings scheduled at Lemont High School for Monday, February 1, have been cancelled due to a water main break under the parking lot outside of the Performing Arts Center entrance. All water must be shut off to the building in order to fix the problem; this repair is expected to begin at 3 p.m. All students, faculty, staff and coaches should leave the building by 3 p.m., as there will be no restroom facilities available once the water is shut off. Lemont High School’s cheerleading squad finished as the runner-up in the Medium Division at the IHSA Joliet West Sectional on January 30, which was more than enough to secure the program’s 11th straight state finals berth. The Indians will be gunning for their fifth state championship when they compete at the 2016 IHSA Medium Division Cheerleading State Finals, which will be contested at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Ill., on Friday, February 5, and Saturday, February 6. Lemont has won nine state trophies in 10 previous state finals appearances, and never has finished lower than fourth in state finals competition. Read More

After placing in the top three in 28 of 30 events at a regional competition, Lemont High School’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is poised to tackle state competition. Lemont racked up 33 top-three finishes in all - including 15 event wins - at the Central Northern Area Conference regional, which was contested at the Illinois Math & Science Academy on January 16.
