The Lemont High School Educational Foundation has committed to supporting 13 grants for nearly $44,000 for the 2016-17 school year. Grant proposals were submitted by Lemont High School faculty and staff, with the goal of enhancing educational opportunities for the school’s enrollment of more than 1,400 students. Read More
Lemont High School will host its annual “Senior Citizen Spring Social” in conjunction with a dress rehearsal of its Spring Musical on Wednesday, May 11. A reception will be held from 5:45-6:45 p.m., prior to a 7 p.m. showing of Seussical. The event is free of charge and is geared toward adults ages 55 and over, giving them a chance to mingle with the school’s students. The Cat in the Hat will be front and center as he narrates the magical story of a Tony Award-nominated winning Broadway work on Lemont High School’s stage. The school’s Performing Arts Center will feature Seussical for nightly performances from Thursday, May 12, through Saturday, May 14. Read More
Lemont High School welcomed its first class of Science National Honor Society inductees with a brief ceremony in the school’s Board Room on March 23. A total of 31 students were honored for their excellence in science. Read More
Four Lemont High School students were honored with April “Student of the Month” accolades at the district’s Board of Education meeting on April 18. Included among the honorees were senior Anastasia Leeberedes (English), junior Abby Magdziarz (Industrial Technology), sophomore Paul O’Leary (Social Studies) and freshman Morgan Cortes (Learning Resource Center). Lemont High School has announced its “Our Books, Our School” selections for the 2016-17 school year. Over the summer, students will have their choice of four young adult novels selected by a committee of the school’s faculty, staff and administration. In addition to choosing from the “Our Books, Our School” list, students in Honors and Advanced Placement level English courses will be responsible for additional summer reading assignments. Read More
