The ACT Corporation recently released the average composite ACT scores for high schools across the country, and for the second straight year, Lemont High School has the opportunity to celebrate a record-setting performance by its students. Three recent Lemont High School graduates - midfielder Meagan Johnson (Benedictine University), forward/midfielder Brittany Kinnunen (Loras College) and defender Courtney Smalarz (Dominican University) - have committed to playing women’s soccer at the collegiate level beginning this fall. Read More

Six recent Lemont High School graduates who played vital roles in the football program’s success over the last few years will begin their college football careers beginning next season. Included in that group are defensive lineman Angel Cabral (College of DuPage), defensive back Nick Forzley (University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign), running back Danny Hayes (North Central College), running back Cody Kamberos (College of DuPage), offensive lineman Jimmy Purvin (Central College, Iowa) and defensive lineman Petar Vjestica (University of Wisconsin-Platteville). They join defensive lineman Pat Driscoll (Western Michigan University) and linebacker Connor Nagel (Truman State University), who signed National Letters of Intent in the winter, as Lemont football alumni playing collegiately next year. Lemont High School will distribute registration materials via mail for next year's students later this summer. However, parents who are seeking the required health examination forms in preparation for doctor's visits scheduled for before the time those registration materials will arrive at their homes may download those forms off the school's Web site. Two of Lemont High School’s top boys’ track and field competitors - senior Connor Riley and junior Jared Bruns - finished up their respective seasons by taking part in the 2010 IHSA Class 2A Boys’ Track and Field State Finals at O’Brien Stadium on the campus of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Ill. Both athletes were making their first IHSA Track and Field State Finals appearances, with Riley competing in the shot put and Bruns in the discus. Read More
