Pupil Personnel Services Office

At Lemont High School, each student has available to him or her a set of primary support services. Much interaction takes place among these school professionals for the purpose of providing the supports necessary for students to succeed in the school program. Not all students need all of these services, or are even aware of how they function. Other students may require many of these services. However, it is the philosophy of the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Office that a student goes through his/her high school career with this “umbrella” or “wrap” of services available.

PPS staff members provide additional services to students, assisting them outside of the classroom. PPS services include: the Dean’s Office, the Attendance Office, the Guidance and Counseling Offices, Special Education Services, the Police Liaison Officer, the school psychologist, the school social worker, and the certified school nurse.

Appointments with guidance counselors or the social worker should be made in the PPS Office; appointments with the school psychologist should be made through the Assistant Principal’s secretary.

The following services are provided by Lemont High School:

1. Health services supervised by a qualified school nurse

2. Educational and psychological testing services, and the services of a psychologist as needed. In all cases, written permission to administer a psychological examination must be obtained from the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s). Results will be given to the parent(s)/guardian(s), with interpretation, as well as the appropriate professional staff.

3. The services of a social worker, provided informed consent from the student’s parent(s)/guardian(s) is secured in advance

4. Guidance and counseling services
