Lemont High School to host National STEM Day event on October 30

From noon-2 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, Lemont High School’s CITGO Innovation Academy and Science National Honor Society chapter will team to celebrate National STEM Day. This event is open to all ages and will include a variety of STEM “tricks” and giveaways.

Attendees will have the opportunity to see several experiments, including an “exploding pumpkin” demonstration. Additional fun will include the opportunity to make your own slime, as well as a tie-dye station. Younger participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes.

The school’s Science Club, Health Occupations Student Association and Mu Alpha Theta chapter will host STEM stations ranging from coding to chromatography to the science of music, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society will entertain with spooky music.

Joliet Junior College will provide support for the MakerLab, while CITGO generously will supply giveaways for attendees.
