Lemont’s Junior Achievement company – Lemont Publishing, Inc. – is putting together a book titled, “Lemont Times.” The group is aiming to include various chapters highlighting the many things people love about Lemont. It is excited to offer the opportunity for the community to submit artwork, local recipes, and short stories.

Lemont Publishing, Inc. will accept submissions through Wednesday, October 15. Please click here to submit your material. All selected work will be credited to the individuals who submitted it.

“Lemont Times” will be available for preorder later this fall.

Lemont’s Junior Achievement organization annually builds a business from scratch. A student-led board creates a product, sells stock in the company and markets the product, with a goal of reaping dividends for its shareholders.

This year’s Junior Achievement board includes seniors Michael Tilly (President), Mykala Kunickis (Team Leader of Customer Service & Sales) and Noah Tienda (Team Leader of Supply Chain), and juniors Kevin Collins (Team Leader of Marketing) and Braden Vasvery (Team Leader of Finance).

Established in 1919, Junior Achievement is an educational nonprofit organization that brings financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship programs into classrooms from kindergarten through high school. Junior Achievement of Chicago is the largest of the organization’s offices in the United States. Its programs empower students to make a connection between what they learn in school and how it can be applied in the real world – enhancing the relevance of their classroom learning and increasing their understanding of the value of staying in school.
