Lemont High School’s entry tied for 20th in the Geometry Written Team competition at the 2026 Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) Division 3AA State Finals.
The state qualifiers in the Geometry category included sophomores Ganesh Kolli, Elyse Miazga, Shaan Sharma, Patrick Sobula, Tomas Taujanskas and Alex Tchernev.
Lemont placed fourth in the team standings at its regional, and the Geometry team tied for second in its category. Taujanskas was Lemont’s top regional finisher, placing first individually in Geometry.
Lemont won the South Suburban Conference-Blue Division earlier this year.
Lemont’s Mathletes team is coached by Angela Marshall, Abbey Scupin and Ken Suslek.
