Lemont’s Science National Honor Society set for Mini-STEM Nights in March

In partnership with the school’s CITGO Innovation Academy, Lemont High School’s chapter of the Science National Honor Society will host a series of virtual STEM events throughout March for students of all ages. Weekly events begin on Wednesday, March 3, and two contests will run through early April.

Five Mini-STEM Nights will be held in all, giving students from kindergarten through eighth grade an opportunity to participate in activities virtually. Each Mini-STEM Night will include different activities in which students can participate. A list of activities, as well as the materials needed, is included on the event website.

Students of all ages also can participate in contests designed by members of the Science National Honor Society. Students from kindergarten through fifth grade can participate in Flipgrid Challenges, where they submit recordings of themselves tackling experiments described by Science National Honor Society students. Additionally, sticker design contests are being held for students from kindergarten through high school.

Mini-STEM Nights will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on March 3, March 9, March 11, March 16 and March 17.
