Board member Renée Koehler resigns from District 210 Board of Education

Renée Koehler

Ten-year member Renée Koehler has submitted her resignation from the Lemont High School District 210 Board of Education. First elected to the Board of Education in 2015, she won her third four-year term in 2023.

“On behalf of board members both past and present who have had the privilege of serving with her, I would like to express sincere gratitude to Renée for the commitment she has shown to the Lemont High School community,” District 210 Board of Education President Kurt Korte said.

“We have been fortunate to collaborate so closely with someone with her passion and attention to detail. Renée always brings a key voice to board discussions, and not only worked well with former superintendent Dr. Mary Ticknor, but is proud to have been part of the Board’s selection of our new superintendent, Dr. Matt Maxwell. We will miss her presence on the Board, but the impact she made during her tenure will extend far beyond the 10-plus years she served.”

The Board of Education has established the process by which it will fill her position for the remainder of her term. A four-year term next will be available for this Board of Education position in Spring 2027.

The district has reported the board vacancy to the South Cook Intermediate Service Center, as required by state statute. The Board of Education has 60 days to fill the vacancy. Board vacancies are filled in accordance with Board Policy 2:70 (Vacancies on the Board of Education - Filling Vacancies).

District 210’s Board of Education will accept materials from interested candidates through Tuesday, September 30. Applicants must be citizens of the United States, at least 18 years of age, residents of the state and school district for at least one year immediately preceding the most recent election, and registered voters.
