Greetings from Lemont High School!

Today is my first day at Lemont High School, and I could not be more excited to be here! As a native of the south suburbs - I grew up a couple of towns over in Tinley Park - I have admired this high school for many years, and it is an honor to have the chance to contribute to its legacy.

Over the past several months, I have worked closely with Dr. Mary Ticknor on transition activities and had the chance to meet with many school administrators and faculty and staff. The more I have learned about Lemont High School, the more impressed I have been with what the students, faculty and staff, and community have built here over time.

Today may be my first day, but it is just the beginning of the “firsts” for me, and I have a whole list I’m looking forward to: my first meeting with the faculty and staff, the first day of school, the first trips to the sidelines to watch our students compete… and yes, even the first difficult weather decision of the year.

Lemont High School has an outstanding reputation - locally, statewide, and nationally - and its students consistently achieve great things both in and out of the classroom. This tradition of excellence can be attributed to the district’s amazing level of stability over time.

I am just the fourth District 210 superintendent since 1990, and each of my three predecessors served at least 10 years in the role. Every member of the District 210 Board of Education has been associated with the school - either as an elected board member or part of a support organization - for at least 10 years. Our faculty’s average tenure at Lemont High School is more than 16 years!

I am excited to lean upon this institutional knowledge as I start my own “freshman year” at Lemont High School, and I have lots to learn and many people to meet. I will rely on the expertise of an experienced group of school administrators, and look forward to meeting teachers and visiting their classrooms to watch them in action. Our support staff and cafeteria, buildings and grounds, technology, and transportation teams do terrific work and have a major impact on the day-to-day experience for our students.

I value the opportunity the District 210 Board of Education has given me, and look forward to getting to know the parents/guardians and other community members who do so much to support our school. More than any other factor, Lemont High School’s reputation as an exemplary high school is the result of talented students committing themselves to become lifelong learners and productive citizens in a rapidly changing world.

This is a humbling opportunity for me, and my wife, Liz, and our four kids are excited to be dressed in blue and gold and part of the Lemont High School community. Even though it’s just my first day, I already know this…We are Lemont!
