Lemont High School to host “virtual” 8th Grade Open House on December 3

Important Information for the Class of 2025
New Student Enrollment

Lemont High School – a 2017 National Blue Ribbon School – will host a “virtual” 8th Grade Open House on Thursday, December 3. The event provides an opportunity for current 8th grade students and their parents/guardians to learn what Lemont High School has to offer. The open house will be available on the school’s website - www.lhs210.net - beginning at 6 p.m. on December 3.

Any incoming student who lives within the school’s attendance boundaries, or who will live within those boundaries during the 2021-22 school year, is encouraged to take advantage of the “sneak peek” the open house provides. Lemont High School’s attendance boundaries include Lemont and portions of Darien, Downers Grove and Woodridge.

Students and parents/guardians alike will have the chance to learn about the fine academic and extra-curricular programs offered by Lemont High School and take a virtual tour of outstanding facilities in the areas of fine arts, career and technical education, technology, and athletics.

If students cannot participate in the virtual open house on December 3, the open house will remain available on the school’s website.

Lemont High School also has announced that it will not hold a placement exam for its Class of 2025. Course placements will be made based on standardized test scores that are provided to the school by students’ grade schools.

NOTE FOR PARENTS OF STUDENTS ENROLLED IN CATHOLIC/PRIVATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

The “High School Recruitment” section in the Archdiocese of Chicago’s Handbook for School Administrators places restrictions on the relationships that public schools may have with Catholic grade schools. Specifically, Catholic elementary schools may not:

  • Invite public high schools to Catholic elementary school-sponsored high school recruitment events;
  • Provide an opportunity for public high schools to hold placement tests on their campuses; or
  • Distribute promotional materials from public high schools.

Parents/guardians of Catholic or private school students who are considering attending Lemont High School next year are encouraged to attend the “virtual” 8th Grade Open House on December 3 to learn more about the wealth of opportunities Lemont High School offers its student population.

Parents/guardians of students who currently are enrolled in any private school but are considering attending Lemont High School next year are encouraged to visit the New Student Enrollment page. Once there, parents/guardians should follow the instructions for non-Old Quarry Middle School students.
