New District 210 Board of Education seated; three elected to officer roles

At its Organizational Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 12, Lemont High School District 210 seated its recently elected Board of Education members and also elected three individuals to two-year terms as officers.

Lynn Antonopoulos, Mike Kardas and Kurt Korte all were sworn in after being elected to four-year terms. They will serve on the seven-member Board of Education with Pam DriscollGary Gray, Renée Koehler and Beverly Marzec, who were not up for reelection in 2025.

Along with the seating of the board members, the Board of Education elected three officers to two-year terms. Korte was elected to serve his third term as President, while Antonopoulos was elected for her second term as Vice President. Kardas was elected to his sixth term as Secretary; he first served in the position from 2013-19, and again beginning in 2021.

Marzec, who was the Board’s first female president from 2009-13, has served on the District 210 Board of Education for 34 years, which is the longest tenure in board history. She first joined the board in 1991. At 22 years each, Driscoll and Gray are now tied for the fifth-longest tenures in board history.
