Freshman
Music

The Music Department tabbed Paul Schochat as the Freshman Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Paul lists German II as his favorite course because it is consistently interesting for him. In his nomination, Paul was noted for his dedication to the band program and the constant improvement he has made on the alto saxophone. He has played with the Marching Band, Concert Band, Honors Symphonic Band, Lab Band and the Pep Band, and was recently asked to step in and play with the Honors Jazz Band at Disneyland. A member of the Foreign Language Club and the state-qualifying Mathletes squad, his most immediate goal is to enjoy high school and to get better each year. In his spare time, Paul spends time with his friends and plays video games.

Raneen Zubi
Sophomore
Science

Raneen Zubi was named the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Science Department. An inquisitive student who easily grasps concepts and applies them to the real world, Raneen is described as a pleasure to have in class and always eager to learn and help out fellow classmates. A high honor roll student, she lists Food Preparation, World History, Physics, English and Parenting as her favorite courses. A member of Community Service for Everyone (CSFE), she served as a Freshman Class Officer last year and established herself as an award-winning student at her Arabic school. In the future, she plans on attending college, becoming a pharmacist, getting married and having kids. In her free time, Raneen enjoys reading.

Za'Cora Quinn
Junior
Learning Resource Center

The Learning Resource Center picked Za’Cora Quinn as the Junior Student of the Month. A high honor roll student who has had perfect attendance throughout her high school career, she lists Parenting and Spanish III Honors as her favorite courses. In her nomination, she was recognized for her extensive reading and for giving the LRC suggestions for books to purchase. Za’Cora is involved in a number of activities, including the Speech team, where she competes in Humorous Duet Acting and Original Comedy. She hopes to continue earning good grades and attending college, where she would like to study abroad. She’s also interested in pursuing a career in either zoology or acting. In addition to reading, Za’Cora enjoys going to comedic movies and plays in her spare time.

Heidi Arenberg
Senior
Foreign Language

Heidi Arenberg was selected as the Senior Student of the Month by the Foreign Language Department. A high honor roll student, Heidi has been a standout French student, earning French National Honor Society accolades, two departmental awards and straight A’s in the language throughout her career. She lists French IV Honors and Painting as her favorite courses, while also noting an interest in science classes. The National Honor Society student has been involved in Inkspot, Mathletes and the Foreign Language Club. She is described by her teachers as a kind, ethical individual who is motivated to reach the high standards she has set for herself. She plans on attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison next year, and also has aspirations to study abroad. She works as a cashier at Target, and in her free time, she hangs out with friends, goes out to eat and sleeps.
