Rebecca Peraino
Freshman
Family and Consumer Science

Rebecca Peraino was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Family and Consumer Science Department. A high honor roll student, Rebecca lists Family and Consumer Science Survey and English I Honors as her favorite courses. Her teachers note that she is conscientious about her work, assists other students, and consistently displays a positive attitude. She already has involved herself in a number of extra-curricular activities. She is a part of the cheerleading and girls’ soccer programs, and is a member both of the Student Council and Foreign Language Club. Rebecca plans on attending college, earning a Ph.D., becoming a psychologist and having a family. In her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, spending time with friends, reading, playing piano and listening to music.

Dana Pickering
Sophomore
Foreign Language

The Foreign Language Department tabbed Dana Pickering as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A hard-working and self-motivated student, Dana notes that Drawing & Design II, Driver Education, Geometry and French II are her favorite courses. Her French teacher applauds her growth over the last year, as she has improved by an entire letter grade each semester since beginning with the language. A high honor roll performer who demonstrates a positive attitude, Dana is a member of the girls’ swimming program, as well as Community Service for Everyone (CSFE) and the Foreign Language Club. She plans to attend college to study medicine, with hopes of becoming an OBGYN. In her free time, Dana enjoys spending time with her friends and family, performing community service, working out and shopping.

Dustin Bradley
Junior
Physical Education

Dustin Bradley was chosen as the Junior Student of the Month by the Physical Education Department. An honor roll performer, Dustin indicates his favorite classes are Theatre Technology I, as well as all of his band classes - including Marching Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band. He is described as a self-motivated, hard-working student who challenges himself on a daily basis. In Physical Education, he is interested in improving his health and wellness. He also has been honored each of the last two years as the “Most Improved Marcher” and “Hardest Working” student in the band program. He plans on working in the theatre field professionally. Besides being involved in the school’s bands and theatre tech programs, Dustin also takes a great interest in computers, including Web design and computer programming.

Damen McDermott
Senior
Business

The Business Department picked Damen McDermott as the Senior Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Damen’s teachers note that he is willing to take the lead on any project, and demonstrates confidence by challenging himself with a difficult course load. He cites Accounting I, Business Management & Entrepreneurship II and Web Design & Development as his favorite classes. A member of both the football and boys’ tennis programs, he also is heavily involved with the school’s chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). He finished seventh in Accounting I at the 2011 FBLA State Leadership Conference. He hopes to serve in the U.S. Army, attend college, and someday become a certified public accountant. In his free time, he likes to read, work out, listen to music and hang out with his friends.
