David Marchwiany
Freshman
Industrial Technology
David Marchwiany was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Industrial Technology Department. Described by his teachers as an independent learner who consistently gives his best effort, David lists Algebra II, Biology Honors and Orientation to Industrial Technology as his favorite classes. His work always is of the highest quality, and he routinely assists classmates who may need assistance. David demonstrates an advanced maturity level for his age, and shows sound judgement when making decisions. A member of the Principal’s High Honor Roll as a middle schooler, David is a member of the Art Club. Someday, he hopes to become either a detective or a doctor. In his free time, David enjoys sports, as well as radio control cars, planes and helicopters.
Charlie Stahurski
Sophomore
English
The English Department picked Charlie Stahurski as the Sophomore Student of the Month. Charlie notes that Algebra II, Marching Band and Concert Band are his favorite courses. His teachers laud him for his continuous efforts to improve his writing. He gives his best effort in class daily, and seeks help when he is having difficulties. A member of both the Marching Band and Indoor Percussion, Charlie is a high honor roll student and has earned a “Most Improved” award for his work in the band. He has set a goal to become a strong writer, and has worked toward that by attending the school’s summer writing camp two straight years and regularly seeking assistance in the Writing Center. He hopes to join a marching corps, and intends on someday becoming an architect. Charlie enjoys playing the drums in his spare time.
Jessica Martinez
Junior
Learning Resource Center
Jessica Martinez was picked as the Junior Student of the Month by the Learning Resource Center. A high honor roll student, Jessica notes that she most enjoys Spanish II, English III and Consumer Education. An avid user of the school’s Learning Resource Center, Jessica visits the LRC daily and always is happy to assist the LRC staff. She plans to attend college, and hopes to attain her goal of becoming an ultrasound technician. Described as a quietly confident student with a positive attitude, Jessica is very busy outside of school. She not only works at a local park district, but also enjoys playing volleyball, taking part in creative projects, dancing, swimming, and spending time both with her family and her friends.
Shannon Ehle
Senior
Social Studies
The Social Studies Department tabbed Shannon Ehle as the Senior Student of the Month. Shannon is a high honor roll performer who is described as a dedicated student with an incredible drive to learn. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership abilities, and is looked to as a model student. Shannon notes that U.S. History, American Government, Modern Fiction and English III Honors are some of her favorite classes. She is a member both of the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society, and also teaches religious education. She is highly anticipating heading off to college next year; she has been accepted both to the University of Iowa and Illinois State University, and also is considering the University of Illinois. She plans on majoring in English. Shannon loves reading and writing, and also spends time listening to music, watching good movies, and hanging out with her friends.
