Tyler Schoell
Freshman
Health

Tyler Schoell was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Health Department. Tyler notes that his favorite academic interests are Mathematics and Biology. His teachers describe him as a very conscientious student, as well as one whose consistent participation in class is highlighted with his thoughtful comments. He completes impeccable work, and encourages others to learn. Tyler participated on the boys’ cross country team in the fall, and hopes to play baseball in the spring. As a middle schooler, he was a member of the National Junior Honor Society. He plans to attend a good college and study architecture, with an ultimate goal of running his own architecture firm. Besides baseball and cross country, Tyler enjoys football, basketball, golf, movies and playing video games.

Ann Baillie
Sophomore
Driver Education

The Driver Education Department tabbed Ann Baillie as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Ann’s favorite academic subjects include English, Spanish, World History and Accounting. An excellent student with a great attitude, she works hard to be the best student possible. Ann is very involved in extra-curricular activities, including Great Books Club, Foreign Language Club and Interact. A member of the Lemont Library’s Teen Advisory Group, she won the school’s “One Book, One School” writing contest as a freshman. Ann hopes to study librarian and informational sciences at Dominican University, work as a librarian until becoming a successful, published writer, and own houses in New York, Chicago, London and Paris. She enjoys reading and writing, and works as a page at the Lemont Library.

Sam Abboud
Junior
Guidance

Sam Abboud was picked as the Junior Student of the Month by the Guidance Department. Sam is a high honor roll student, and cites Pre-Calculus and Advanced Placement U.S. History as his favorite courses. His teachers laud his work ethic, and note his willingness to assist others in class while contributing his own excellent work. Well respected by his peers and teachers, Sam is an inductee of both the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. He also is a member of the varsity boys’ basketball squad. Sam already has begun thinking of his future; he plans to attend a four-year college and is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. In his spare time, Sam enjoys basketball and music.

Monica Furczon
Senior
Special Education

The Special Education Department cited Monica Furczon as the Senior Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Monica’s favorite subjects include Art and Mathematics. She earns “A’s” in nearly all her classes while holding down a part-time job. She willingly accepts help and suggestions, and has a relentless drive to succeed. A model student who is dedicated to her studies, Monica has done a number of community service projects and is a member of Interact. She has achieved almost all of the goals she set for herself in high school. Her teachers also note that her kindness and compassion will carry her far in life. Monica plans to attend Benedictine University and aims to become an orthodontist. In her free time, she enjoys arts and crafts, dancing, music, movies, and spending time with friends.
