Spenser Bailey
Freshman
Mathematics
Spenser Bailey was named the Freshman Student of the Month by the Mathematics Department. A high honor roll performer, Spenser lists Accelerated Algebra II Honors, Web Design & Development, English I Honors and Biology Honors among his favorite courses. He demonstrates a tireless work ethic and consistently seeks a deeper understanding of academic material. Involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, Spenser is a part of Future Business Leaders of America and Mathletes, each of which has qualified for state finals competition. He was an individual winner at the FBLA Regional, and was a part of a victorious team at the Mathletes Regional. Spenser is working towards becoming an Eagle Scout, and hopes to make the school’s boys’ golf team next fall. In his spare time, he enjoys running, cycling and reading.
Abby Roselieb
Sophomore
Music
The Music Department picked Abby Roselieb as the Sophomore Student of the Month. Abby notes that her favorite classes are English II Honors, Freshman/Sophomore Choir and Band. A well-rounded musician, she is lauded for her commitment to the arts. Abby continually strives to improve her voice and her trumpet performance in the band. Her efforts have led her to be cast as Wendy in this year’s Spring Musical, “Peter Pan.” A high honor roll student, she has competed in Illinois Music Educators Association events both in middle school and in high school. Abby hopes to attend Millikin University, where she would study both English education and musical theatre, and also would like to try out for a marching band corps. In her free time, she reads, hangs out with her friends, plays the trumpet at church and performs in musicals.
Lauren Pustulka
Junior
Science
Lauren Pustulka was cited as the Junior Student of the Month by the Science Department. Lauren is a high honor roll student who lists AP Environmental Science and Chemistry Honors as her favorite courses. Her teachers note that she has an outstanding grasp of science concepts and lab technique, and that her academic integrity and consideration of others will aid her greatly as she pursues a future in the medical field. Lauren’s bevy of extra-curricular activities includes National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, Interact, Student Council, Foreign Language Club, Mu Alpha Theta and the Lemont Youth Ministry. She plans to attend college and study pre-medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys playing volleyball, spending time with family and friends, and playing piano.
Joe Paloian
Senior
Business
The Business Department tabbed Joe Paloian as the Senior Student of the Month. Joe says that he most favors his business courses, including Accounting I, II and III. An extremely hard worker and high honor roll student, his pleasant demeanor, modesty and high level of integrity all benefit him both in and out of the classroom. Joe helped the Indians to a third-place finish at the 2011 IHSA Class 2A Boys’ Golf State Finals; he finished 27th in the individual standings, and the third-place finish was the program’s best ever. He also has a won a regional title with the school’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter, and is slated to compete in the upcoming FBLA State Finals. Joe is a member of the National Honor Society and plays with the Lemont Trojans hockey club. His future goals include playing college golf while majoring in accounting and finance; he someday hopes to pass his CPA exam and become an auditor. Joe enjoys video games, working out and spending time with his family and friends, and also is a banquet server at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club.
