Nicole Walsh
Freshman
Mathematics

The Mathematics Department selected Nicole Walsh as the Freshman Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Nicole states she most enjoys learning about different languages, arts and cultures. She was a member of the Poms/Dance program earlier this year, and also is a member of a local choir. Her teachers are impressed by the encouragement that she provides to her classmates and how she engages with peers in group activities. Nicole has a knack for making others feel comfortable when working with her, and always is conscientious and detail-oriented with her work. She looks forward to someday going on a mission trip, and plans on attending college after graduation. In her spare time, Nicole has been involved in theater, worked as a camp counselor, is a member of a youth group, and plays Irish music.

Kevin Troy
Sophomore
Music

Kevin Troy was tabbed as the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Music Department. Kevin is a high honor roll performer who most enjoys science courses and the theatre technology program. He is involved in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including boys’ bowling, Mathletes, Foreign Language Club and Worldwide Youth in Science & Engineering. In the theatre technology program, Kevin has learned to operate and control nearly all aspects of the school’s Performing Arts Center. As a student leader, he assists peers as they learn to operate various systems within the PAC. He will serve as stage manager for the upcoming spring musical. Kevin plans to become a chemical engineer or nuclear engineer after attending the University of Illinois. An award-winning Eagle Scout, Kevin also works as a summer camp counselor.

Nick Urban
Junior
Science

The Science Department picked Nick Urban as the Junior Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, his current favorite classes include AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry and Food Preparation, and he also mentioned enjoying biology. Nick is a member of Mu Alpha Theta, the Athletic Council and the National Honor Society, and also is a two-time all-conference performer and state qualifier in boys’ tennis. A tennis team captain, he twice has finished among the state’s top 32 players at the IHSA State Finals. Nick demonstrates a solid work ethic, and is described as a student with strong science instincts as well as a ‘take-charge’ individual in lab work. He plans on attending college and someday hopes to earn his doctorate. In his spare time, Nick enjoys listening to and discovering music.

Elizabeth Forzley
Senior
Business

Elizabeth Forzley was cited as the Senior Student of the Month by the Business Department. Lizzy is a high honor roll student who lists Business Leadership and American Problems among her favorite classes. She also is very interested in the various factors that affect America’s economy. Lizzy is President of both the Student Council and Athletic Council, is involved in Future Business Leaders of America, Foreign Language Club, Breakfast Buddies and Interact, and is a member of both the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society. Her teachers state that she exudes confidence, leadership and integrity, and is a personable, well-rounded student with a keen business mind. Winner of both the “Beat the Spread” award and the Prairie State Achievement Award in Science, Lizzy plans on majoring in marketing at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. She hopes to someday work for Google or Macy’s. She works both at Forzley Eye Clinic and as a nanny, and enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
