Emma Bozue
Freshman
Art

The Art Department selected Emma Bozue as the Freshman Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Emma is especially interested in science and also enjoys exploring her creativity in Ceramics and Introduction to Digital Art. She is described as an exceptionally creative student whose art always is above and beyond the assignment’s requirements. She demonstrates leadership in the classroom and has a cheerful, positive attitude. Emma is a member of the varsity girls’ basketball team, played tennis in the fall, and is involved with the school’s Interact organization. She also plays in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. Her future goals include both playing the violin and playing basketball throughout college, as well as becoming an audiologist. She enjoys reading, babysitting, volunteering and spending time with her family.

Jade Mardjetko
Sophomore
Physical Education

Jade Mardjetko was tabbed as the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Physical Education Department. Jade is a high honor roll student who most enjoys science, including her AP Physics course. She is a self-motivated student who always gives her best effort. Her teachers applaud her ability to quickly make adjustments to improve her skills, and note that it doesn’t take long to realize that she is a hard-working student and athlete. Jade is a member of both the school’s softball and girls’ volleyball programs, and plays travel volleyball and travel softball as well. She has set a goal to play softball in college and has an interest in entering the sports medicine field. Besides playing softball and volleyball, Jade enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Mackenna Grelck
Junior
Family & Consumer Sciences

The Family & Consumer Sciences Department cited Mackenna Grelck as the Junior Student of the Month. Mackenna most enjoys science classes because she has an interest in entering the medical field. However, she also loves Family & Consumer Sciences classes such as Culinary Arts. She is described as a diligent, conscientious student who possesses great leadership qualities. Mackenna has been a member of the girls’ volleyball program. She is on the board for the school’s Interact organization, and also is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. She plans to become a nurse practitioner, and hopes to be accepted into the University of Iowa’s nursing program. She holds down a part-time job at Gelsosomo’s Pizza, and also likes spending time with her family and friends.

Will Totura
Senior
World Languages

Will Totura was picked as the Senior Student of the Month by the World Languages Department. Will is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes include Advanced Calculus, AP Biology and Spanish IV Honors Accelerated. He is a leader in the classroom, is gifted in language learning, and collaborates well with his peers. Will has been inducted into both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, and is involved with many school organizations, including Future Business Leaders of America, WYSE, Foreign Language Club, Mathletes and Interact. He was cited as a Prairie State Scholar, Illinois State Scholar and AP Scholar, and also has received recognition for his performance on the National Spanish Exam. He plans on studying bioengineering, with an ultimate goal of becoming a pediatrician. He works at the Lemont Park District in his spare time, and also enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family and friends.
