Emily Krivograd
Freshman
Health

Emily Krivograd was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Health Department. Emily is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes include Introduction to Studio Art and English I Honors. Her teachers describe her as a hard-working student who participates in classroom discussions in a thoughtful manner. She works well both as an individual and as part of a group setting, as is enjoyable to have in class. Emily is a member of both the Interact Club and Foreign Language Club. Though she has a lot of time left in her high school career, she says that she plans on attending college after graduation with hopes of someday holding a job involving art. In her spare time, Emily enjoys reading, drawing, and doing arts and crafts.

Jackie Cikowski
Sophomore
Driver Education

The Driver Education Department tabbed Jackie Cikowski as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll performer, Jackie enjoys taking Spanish classes because she is intrigued by learning languages other than English and Polish. Her teachers note that she is an excellent student with a great attitude who makes the classroom atmosphere enjoyable. She works hard, both in and out of the classroom, in order to be the best student she can be. Jackie is a member of the girls’ bowling program, as well as the Interact Club, Drama Club and Model U.N. She hopes to attend the University of Illinois-Chicago or Northwestern University, and would like to be either a nurse or a special education teacher. In her free time, Jackie takes dance classes, works part-time at Celina’s Fresh Market, and spends time with family and friends.

DJ Krakar
Junior
Special Education

DJ Krakar was picked as the Junior Student of the Month by the Special Education Department. DJ is an honor roll student who lists U.S. History, Food Preparation and English among his academic interests. His teachers applaud his perseverance, dedication and commitment to improve and do well in school. DJ has made significant progress advocating for himself, taking responsibility for his learning, and functioning independently at school. He entered high school shy and withdrawn, but has blossomed into a model student and a leader among his peers. DJ participates in Breakfast Buddies and the Evening Out club. He looks forward to attending Joliet Junior College, where he plans on studying zoology. DJ enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing video games, and going to the park with his family.

Ahmad El-Hrisse
Senior
Student Services

The Student Services Department cited Ahmad El-Hrisse as the Senior Student of the Month. Ahmad has performed at a high honor roll level during his high school career, and states that he most enjoys Human Rights & World Affairs, French and Theatre Technology. His teachers appreciate his pleasant nature and great attitude. Regardless of what is asked of him, he goes above and beyond and does not complain. Ahmad is a member of the Human Rights Club, and also participates on the Tech Crew in the Performing Arts Center. He expects to attend College of DuPage next year, where he will pursue studies in biomedical engineering. He also hopes to serve in the Peace Corps at some point in the future. Ahmad enjoys volunteering at an animal shelter, watching hockey, working out, and hanging out with friends.
