Natalie Lassak
Freshman
Art

Natalie Lassak was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Art Department. Natalie is a high honor roll performer who states that she most enjoys Introduction to Drawing & Painting, Biology Honors and Integrated Math I Honors. Her teachers describe her as an outstanding person, student and artist. Her artwork is among the best in her class, and for her art instructors, her dedication to her craft is fantastic to observe. Her work already has been displayed in the Art Department and on “The Wall” within Haiku. In addition to standing out in art, Natalie is a member of the Speech Team. In the future, she hopes to pursue a career either in medicine or theatre. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys drawing, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Ellie Abboud
Sophomore
Physical Education

The Physical Education Department picked Ellie Abboud as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Ellie’s favorite class is Spanish II. She also is very interested in working with children. With her outstanding work ethic and generous personality, her teachers say that Ellie displays the type of character that all Lemont students should show when representing the school. She always is prepared for class, and tries to raise the level of class participation among her peers. She is a member of both the girls’ basketball and girls’ volleyball programs, serves on the Student Advisory Council, and is the Secretary of the Interact Club. Ellie plans on attending college and has aspirations to become an English as a Second Language or Special Education teacher. She likes to spend time with her brothers.

Abigail Bernabei
Junior
Family & Consumer Sciences

Abigail Bernabei was cited as the Junior Student of the Month by the Family & Consumer Sciences Department. Abigail’s favorite subject interests include Mathematics, Physical Education and Family & Consumer Sciences. Her calm demeanor allows her to work well as an individual or in group-based settings. She is willing to do whatever is necessary to accomplish her goals. A high honor roll student and National Honor Society inductee, Abigail is a member of the girls’ basketball program and was named “Most Improved” on the girls’ track and field team last year. She also is involved with the Junior Illinois Association of the Deaf and the Lemont Juniorettes. She plans on attending college before becoming a missionary or pediatric nurse. Abigail enjoys watching TV and movies, cooking, baking, volunteering and babysitting.

 

Francesca Vitale
Senior
World Languages

The World Languages Department tabbed Francesca Vitale as the Senior Student of the Month. Francesca is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes are Drawing & Painting IV and Spanish IV Honors. Her teachers note that she has developed into a confident and enthusiastic Spanish speaker, so much so that she is doing an independent study this semester that allows her the opportunity to teach mini-lessons to students in Spanish I. Francesca is a member of the Foreign Language Club, and performed very well on the National Spanish Examinations. She expects to attend DePaul University, where she hopes to earn degrees in secondary education and Spanish. Her goal is to become a Spanish teacher at the high school level, or a Spanish professor at the college level. In her spare time, Francesca has started her own business hand painting ornaments, which incorporates her passion for art.
