Gabrielle Salomon
Freshman
Family & Consumer Sciences
Gabrielle Salomon was cited as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Family and Consumer Science Department. Gabrielle states that her favorite class as a freshman is Biology Honors, because she is interested in entering the medical field. She already is involved in several extra-curricular activities, including the Health Occupations Student Association (HOSA), Leo Club, Drama Club, Yearbook Club and gymnastics. Gabrielle is an active participant in class, always is kind and respectful, and produces quality work. In the future, she hopes to maintain a “Straight A” average, and eventually wishes to study medicine in college while participating in gymnastics. In her spare time, Gabrielle enjoys volunteering, coaches for the Lemont Hornets, and sings the National Anthem at local sporting events.
Natalie Palarz
Sophomore
World Languages
The World Languages Department tabbed Natalie Palarz as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Natalie most enjoys Spanish II, Integrated Math II Honors and Drafting/CAD I, because she is passionate about these subjects. She is a member of the girls’ cross country program, as well as Mathletes, Student Council, Junior Achievement and Interact. Natalie’s teachers describe her as respectful and mature, and laud her for working well with all of her classmates. She clarifies content for herself and her peers, and takes topics of conversation to new levels. She hopes to follow in her father’s footsteps and earn a degree in civil engineering from the University of Illinois-Chicago. She likes biking, playing the violin, running, and spending time with friends and family.
Nicolette Giatras
Junior
Art
Nicolette Giatras was named the Junior Student of the Month by the Art Department. Nicolette is a high honor roll performer whose favorite classes include Drawing & Painting III and Consumer Education. She demonstrates strong talents with several art media, most notably drawing and painting. Her ambition is rewarding for her art instructors to observe, and she is enthusiastic about every piece she creates. Nicolette was selected as an inaugural member of the school’s “Link Crew,” and also is a member of the Art Club, Junior Achievement, Interact, “The Spark,” Student Council, Juniorettes, and the girls’ tennis program. In college, she plans to major in business, with a concentration on film or music. Nicolette works on the film crew at Loews Theatre, and enjoys art and playing tennis.
Tony Brown
Senior
Physical Education
The Physical Education Department picked Tony Brown as the Senior Student of the Month. Tony has earned honor roll recognition in his career, and says his favorite classes include Accounting III Honors and American Government. His teachers describe him as a pleasure to have in class. He always is willing to go above and beyond to help not only his classmates, but also his teachers. In Physical Education classes, he is a hard-nosed participant whose competitive nature is contagious to the rest of the class. He plays for the Lemont Lacrosse Club, and also plays travel lacrosse for Pelicans Lacrosse. In the future, he hopes to become an accountant. In his free time, he works at the Lemont Park District’s “Core” facility and plays lacrosse with his friends.
