Emma Feltz
Freshman
Health
Emma Feltz was cited as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Health Department. Emma is a high honor roll student who most enjoys Biology Honors, Cultural Geography and Health. She is described by her instructors as a bright student who values education and enjoys learning. She demonstrates respect for her classmates, is valuable in class discussions, and is a joy to have in class. Emma has been a member of both the Marching Band and Concert Band, and has been honored for her past work as a special needs assistant. In the future, she hopes to become a neurobiologist, travel the world, and become trilingual. In her spare time, Emma practices her musical instruments, serves as a tutor, volunteers in the community, and spends time with family and friends.
Jane Howell
Sophomore
Driver Education
The Driver Education Department tabbed Jane Howell as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll performer, Jane says she most enjoys World History and Physics. She has been a member of the girls’ swimming program each of her first two years on campus. Her teachers applaud her for always striving to do her best. She prepares well for class, regardless of the task at hand, and complements her hard work with attention to detail. Specifically in Driver Education, she demonstrates care for both the subject matter and being a safe driver. Jane plans on attending college and seeking a degree in secondary education. She has designs on attending either the University of Iowa or the University of Kansas. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Danny Zeiger
Junior
Special Education
Danny Zeiger was named the Junior Student of the Month by the Special Education Department. Danny’s favorite classes include Physical Education, Life Skills and Math. He has been a manager on the football team for three seasons, frequently attends Breakfast Buddies, and has earned Special Olympics medals in both basketball and track and field. Danny has made significant progress in the areas of academics, communication, and vocational skills, and is a great role model for his peers. He has worked at both the Lemont Park District and Walgreens, and by far makes the best hot chocolate at the Common Grounds Coffee House! Danny plans on attending transition college. An avid Cubs fan, Danny also loves watching the Bears and Bulls, and enjoys attending school dances, going to the movies, and going out to eat.
Garan Polic
Senior
Student Services
The Student Services Department selected Garan Polic as the Senior Student of the Month. Garan is a high honor roll student who most enjoys Anatomy & Physiology Honors, AP Biology, and working at the Common Grounds Coffee House in the CITGO Innovation Academy. A National Honor Society inductee and Vice President of the Science Club, Garan was a four-year member of the boys’ basketball program and also plays travel basketball for the Chicago LockDown. He has a passion for helping people and consistently demonstrates kindness. He is described as an exemplary role model for his peers who treats all students with respect and compassion. Garan was selected to be a Loyola University Scholar last summer. He will play basketball at St. Ambrose University and will pursue a degree in nursing, with an ultimate goal of becoming a pediatric nurse practitioner. In his free time, Garan has taken acting classes at Second City, enjoys singing, is learning to play the guitar, and has served as a volunteer in a variety of roles.
