Julia Janowski
Freshman
Art

Julia Janowski was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Art Department. Julia is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes include Guitar and Introduction to Digital Art. She states she enjoys acting, singing, drawing and playing instruments. Julia is a member of the Drama Club and the Yearbook Club, and is looking to play on the school’s badminton team this spring. Her teachers note she is creative and talented but does not shy away from hard work. She catches on to new programs, tools and techniques, and is inspired by the window of possibilities each presents. Julia hopes to earn a theatre scholarship from either Johns Hopkins University or the University of Wisconsin (Madison). She enjoys writing music on her guitar, ukulele and piano, as well as learning dances and reading.
 
Skylar Yabush
Sophomore
Physical Education
The Physical Education Department tabbed Skylar Yabush as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Skylar says she most enjoys history and social studies classes, including AP World History. She already has been part of two Lemont cheerleading squads that have placed among the top five at the state finals. However, she’s also involved with the Interact Club, Leo Club, Health Occupations Student Association, World Languages Club and Student Council. Her teachers applaud her for leading both by example and by voice, and point out that she puts forward her best effort and is someone her peers look up to for the right reasons. Skylar hopes to attend either the University of Colorado (Boulder) or Clemson University. She enjoys cooking and spending time with her Goldendoodle, Rizzo.
Monica Lesnicki
Junior
Family & Consumer Sciences

Monica Lesnicki was cited as the Junior Student of the Month by the Family & Consumer Sciences Department. Monica is a high honor performer whose favorite courses include Consumer Education, PE Leadership, and Human Rights & World Affairs. She is a member of the girls’ golf program, and also has earned induction to both the National Honor Society and Rho Kappa. Monica communicates well with peers and teachers alike, has made a conscious effort to be involved with her school and community, and shows a willingness to persevere through any obstacle. She plans to continue to play golf, and hopes to earn an academic scholarship before ultimately becoming a teacher. In her free time, Monica serves as a tutor and enjoys listening to music, babysitting, spending time with her sisters, and playing Nintendo Switch.
Jake Konieczka
Senior
World Languages

The World Languages Department picked Jake Konieczka as the Senior Student of the Month. Jake is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes include Advanced Calculus and Spanish IV Honors. He also has great interest in accounting. A member of both the school’s football team and the Future Business Leaders of America, Jake has earned induction to both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. An Illinois State Scholar, Jake has impressed his teachers with his positive attitude and his willingness to collaborate. Focused and willing to work hard to improve, he also is friendly and helpful to his peers. He plans on earning his Seal of Biliteracy before graduation, and has designs on becoming a certified public accountant in the future. He works at Home Run Inn and as a tutor, and enjoys piano and guitar and working out.
