Zoe Austin
Freshman
Art
The Art Department selected Zoe Austin as the Freshman Student of the Month. Zoe is a high honor roll performer who most enjoys Introduction to Digital Art. She indicates she is looking forward to taking Graphic Design in the future. Zoe is described as an outstanding student who carefully considers specific design concepts to make her projects the best they can be aesthetically. She has a unique way of breaking down complex objects and forms into simplified shapes within her illustrations. She also puts in extra time at home to complete her work or add extra details. Zoe appreciates constructive criticism to help her improve, and her assignments typically are among the best in the class. In the future, she plans on becoming a graphic designer or digital artist. Zoe enjoys drawing and riding her bike in her free time.

Reagan Russell was tabbed as the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Physical Education Department. A high honor roll student, Reagan most enjoys Communications and AP World History. She has been a member of the girls’ golf team for two years, is involved with the Drama Club, and has served as a class officer for two years. Reagan’s teachers applaud her class preparation, whether she’s in class in person or remotely. She participates to the best of her abilities and leads by example, earning her respect from peers and P.E. leaders alike. The time she invested in her P.E. Google site will pay dividends during the spring semester. In the future, Reagan plans on earning a college degree. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, painting, playing golf, and drama.

The Family & Consumer Sciences Department cited Nina Pavlica as the Junior Student of the Month. Nina is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes include Culinary Arts, Integrated Math III Honors and P.E. Leadership. A member of the girls’ basketball and girls’ soccer programs, she has earned induction to the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. Nina’s other activities include the Health Occupations Student Association, Leo Club, Student Council, Athletic Council, and Link Crew. Her teachers note she is friendly and willing to help teachers and peers alike. Her presence brings much energy and joy to the classroom. Nina plans on pursuing a career as a physician’s assistant. She works part-time at the Lemont Park District, and enjoys music, working out, and spending time with friends and family.

Michael Haughey was named the Senior Student of the Month by the World Languages Department. Michael is a high honor roll student whose current favorite classes include Advanced Calculus and Spanish IV Honors. His Spanish teachers note he has no fear speaking Spanish, he takes risks with the language, and consistently challenges himself. Michael serves as President of Rho Kappa, Vice President of the National Honor Society, and captain of the Mathletes team. He also is involved with the Exemplary Student Research Program at Argonne National Laboratory and is a member of the boys’ tennis team. He recently was nominated by the school for the IHSA All-State Academic Team. In the future, he hopes to become an engineer. Michael works at Cog Hill Golf Course and enjoys practicing tennis.
Senior
