Family & Consumer Sciences

The Family & Consumer Sciences Department cited Shea Holt as the Freshman Student of the Month. Shea’s favorite classes include American Sign Language and Family & Consumer Sciences Survey, and she also enjoys math and psychology. She already stands out as a student who demonstrates solid leadership and communication skills. Shea makes meaningful contributions to class discussions and asks clarifying questions that benefit both her and her classmates. She already is involved in a range of extra-curricular activities, including Speech Team, Drama Club and Art Club. She wants to be a voice for positive change, now and in the future, and hopes to help individuals find themselves and be proud of who they are. Shea enjoys playing piano, skateboarding, singing, acting, shopping, babysitting, drawing and painting.

Destina Sarussi

World Languages

Destina Sarussi was named the Sophomore Student of the Month by the World Languages Department. A high honor roll student, Destina most enjoys English II Honors and Integrated Math III Honors. She is described as an example of grace under pressure who was unflappable through adjustments to schedules and learning environments last year, participating with zest regardless of the location. Destina asks insightful questions and is kind and respectful. She serves as a Drum Major in the Marching Band, and is a class officer and a member of the Speech Team. She qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament last summer and is an award-winning flutist. Destina plans to pursue a career in flute performance and play in a professional orchestra. She like writing, acting, traveling, and spending time with family.

Jessica Beasley

Art

The Art Department selected Jessica Beasley as the Junior Student of the Month. Jessica is a high honor roll student who enjoys AP Calculus BC and any classes related to science and art. An excellent art student since arriving on campus, she has shown great success with all mediums, and consistently pushes herself to grow as an artist. Her compositions, techniques and creations are extraordinary. A member of the varsity girls’ basketball program, Jessica also plays travel basketball and travel softball. She is a two-time Lemont “Artist of the Month” recipient, and was the school’s Class Color Day Arm Wrestling Champion during Homecoming Week. She plans on pursuing studies in nursing or occupational therapy and hopes to play softball in college. In her free time, Jessica enjoys sports, painting, and playing guitar.

Jackson Crispin

Physical Education

Jackson Crispin was tabbed as the Senior Student of the Month by the Physical Education Department. Jackson is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes include Physical Education, Journalism and STEM Math. He is a three-sport athlete who is part of the boys’ golf, boys’ basketball and boys’ volleyball programs. Jackson is described as a leader in the classroom who not only does everything he is asked to do, but also routinely assists his peers without prompt. He understands what it means to be a good person and shows it on a daily basis. A four-year member of the journalism program, he serves as editor-in-chief this year. In the future, Jackson hopes to go to college, get a good job, and live a good life. He works as a life guard with the Lemont Park District and likes to golf in his spare time.
