The Center for Academic Vision & Excellence cited Nina Risatti as the Freshman Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Nina most enjoys Spanish I and Human Geography. She already has involved herself in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, including Health Occupations Student Association, Leo Club, and girls’ track and field. She also qualified for the state competition as a member of the Future Business Leaders of America. Nina takes full advantage of Freshman Academy, works hard, and never is off task. She asks for help when needed and shows tremendous focus in a non-structured setting, which helps her exceed expectations. In the future, she hopes to earn induction to the National Honor Society. Nina enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Donovan Moleski

Donovan Moleski was selected as the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Social Studies Department. Donovan is a high honor roll performer whose favorite subject is mathematics. It does not take long to notice Donovan is exceptionally disciplined in his academics, as evidenced by him challenging himself with three Social Studies AP classes this year. His positive attitude is truly contagious and helps to create an engaging classroom environment, and his work ethic is far beyond his years. He treats setbacks as opportunities to learn from his mistakes. A member of both the baseball and football programs, Donovan hopes to attend an elite college after graduating from high school. In his free time, he likes playing video games and spending time with friends.

Isabella Hinz

Industrial Technology

The Industrial Technology Department named Isabella Hinz as the Junior Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Isabella’s favorite classes have included Forensic Science, Theater Technology, Modern Fiction, and AP Psychology. She is a member of the girls’ badminton team and Drama Club, and has earned induction to the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Rho Kappa. Isabella has excelled across several different disciplines in Theater Tech, CAD/Drafting, and Woods. Her works demonstrate care, understanding, creativity, and intelligence. She is a trusted leader who can take complicated tasks, analyze the components, and produce excellent, well-thought out research and reports. Isabella is unsure of her future plans. In her spare time, she works at Target and Lemon Tree and enjoys reading.

Ryan Babinec

Ryan Babinec was tabbed as the Senior Student of the Month by the English Department. Ryan is a high honor roll student who has most enjoyed Cinema Studies I and II. He is a member of the Health Occupations Student Association as well as the boys’ golf team. An active English student since his freshman year, he is a consistent participant in classroom discussions. Ryan has earned credits in two Creative Writing classes and has contributed to The Spark and the yearbook. He was a producer on a film that advanced to the IHSA Short Film competition and won first place at the 2023 South Suburban Conference Film Festival. In the future, Ryan hopes to become a movie director or writer. He works part-time as a server at Digs on Canal.
