The Art Department selected Bianca Kiel as the Freshman Student of the Month. Bianca is a high honor roll student who most enjoys English I Honors, Introduction to Drawing & Painting, and Introduction to Business. Her continuous hard work, dedication, talent, and passion for art make her a standout student. Her teachers note she is kind to everyone in her class and offers to help others. Bianca strives to create the best work possible, and her sketches, project studies, and projects are among the best at the freshman level. She plays club volleyball, is a member of the school’s Junior Achievement organization, and plans to play tennis this spring. In the future, she hopes to become a real estate broker. In her free time, Bianca enjoys hanging out with friends, doing art, playing tennis and volleyball, and listening to music.

Grady Garofalo was cited as the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Physical Education Department. Grady is a high honor roll performer who lists Sports & Entertainment Marketing and Athletic Performance as his favorite classes. He is a member of both the boys’ basketball and baseball programs. Since the first day of class this year, Grady has shown a passion for Athletic Performance. He brings enthusiasm, works hard, and sets himself apart with unwavering discipline and consistency. Whether it’s a challenging workout or a new lifting routine, Grady tackles each class with a focused mindset and a commitment to improvement. His attitude is contagious and inspires his peers to follow his leadership and match his work ethic. He hopes to play baseball in college. In his free time, Grady enjoys hanging out with friends.

The Family & Consumer Sciences Department tabbed Sylvia Johnson-Pawlak as the Junior Student of the Month. Sylvia is a high honor roll student who most enjoys mathematics courses and her teaching internship. She has maintained a perfect grade point average, earned induction to the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, and is a member of the Student Council. Sylvia does not shy away from expressing her educational goals and ambitions, and her teachers applaud how her passion for education impacts her quality of work in all of her classes. Through her internship, she shows great enthusiasm for her future goal of becoming an elementary school teacher. Sylvia works part-time and babysits for multiple families, and likes to work out and spend time with her family and friends.

World Languages

Gianna Perez was named the Senior Student of the Month by the World Languages Department. A high honor roll student, Gianna’s favorite classes include AP Psychology, Sociology, French IV Honors, and Senior P.E. Leadership. Described as confident, responsible and motivated, she approaches learning with excitement and is dedicated to going above and beyond. She has excelled in French and Spanish and is creative when using the target language. Gianna is President of the World Languages Club and a member of the National Honor Society. A recipient of the National Hispanic Recognition Award, she will graduate with a seal of biliteracy for Spanish. She plans to pursue a career in the communications field, and hopes to travel to gain exposure to different cultures and lifestyles and help individuals who are less fortunate. Gianna works part-time and enjoys reading, eating lots of fruit, and watching good shows.
