The Mathematics Department selected Ella Kincaid as the Freshman Student of the Month. Ella is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes include Choir, English I Honors and Integrated Math II Honors. A member of both the girls’ basketball program and Drama Club, she was part of the Fall Play and is involved in the Spring Musical. Ella’s teachers say she exemplifies the love of learning and is not satisfied with just finding the correct answer, but strives for a true understanding of the concepts behind the outcome. She is kind and thoughtful and is described as having a lovely humility about her skills. Ella hopes to pursue a career in the mathematical field while also focusing on theater and performing. She is the singer for a local student-led jazz combo, sings and volunteers at her church, and likes seeing musicals in Chicago.

Luke Rupert was tabbed as the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Music Department. A high honor roll performer, Luke lists AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, Jazz Band and Marching Band among his favorite courses. A member of the Youth Jazz Ensemble of DuPage and a drum major in the marching band, he will perform at the 29th Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival in New York City and is a two-time all-district musician. His teachers applaud his leadership, as well as his relentless passion and tenacity for practicing his artistry on the alto saxophone. Luke already has earned induction to Mu Alpha Theta and the Tri-M Music Honor Society, and is a Mathletes conference champion. He plans to study biomedical engineering while continuing to pursue music. In his free time, Luke is a lifeguard and enjoys powerlifting and cooking.

The Science Department cited Anika Reddy as the Junior Student of the Month. Anika is a high honor roll student who most enjoys AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, and Anatomy & Physiology Honors. Described as an energetic student and role model for her peers, she is the kind of engaged scholar teachers love to have in their classes and takes on every day with an open attitude. Anika is a Mu Alpha Theta board member, and has earned induction to the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society. She also is the founder and President of the school’s chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. Anika hopes to major in biomedical engineering and become a doctor in the military. In her free time, she works part-time at Code Ninjas and enjoys visiting local coffee shops, going to concerts, and running 5Ks.

Nathan Tilly was named as the Senior Student of the Month by the Business Department. A high honor roll performer, Nathan lists AP Calculus BC, Production Honors and Personal Finance II among his favorite classes. He has played within both the boys’ golf and boys’ volleyball programs, earned induction to both the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta, and is a four-year member of Junior Achievement who serves as its company team leader this year. Nathan also was tabbed as an AP Scholar with Distinction and has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Self-driven and motivated, he is able to handle any task thrown his way with minimal instruction. In the future, he plans to major in finance at either the University of Alabama or University of Utah. Nathan serves as a golf caddy and works at Potbelly, and enjoys working out and hanging out with friends.
