The Health Department cited Evangeline Topete as the Freshman Student of the Month. Evangeline is a high honor roll student whose favorite classes have included English I Honors, Creative Writing, and Intro to Digital Art. Described as sweet and respectful by her teachers, she lends a hand to classmates when needed and never seems to be without a smile. Evangeline was tabbed as a captain on the Speech Team, was a Homecoming Court nominee, and has received both Artist of the Month and UpLifting Lemont awards this year. With passions in writing and speaking, she would love to become an author or writer, and possibly do something involving public speaking. In her free time, Evangeline enjoys painting, writing, creating art, spending time with family and friends, and going to concerts and hearing live music.

Driver Education

Noah Telitz was selected as the Sophomore Student of the Month by the Driver Education Department. Noah is an honor roll student who has a great interest in Physical Education, with Advanced Athletic Performance as his favorite class. His teachers state he works hard inside and outside of the classroom to be the best student he can be, and that his attitude and energy make the classroom atmosphere enjoyable. Noah takes Driver Education seriously and often leads class discussions. A member of the school’s football, wrestling, and track and field programs, he was a freshman/sophomore state qualifier in wrestling. In the future, Noah hopes to become a physical education teacher and football coach. He likes fishing, camping, and watching the Star Wars films in his spare time.

The Special Education Department tabbed Vince Pecoraro as the Junior Student of the Month. A high honor roll performer, Vince lists U.S. History as his favorite area of study. His teachers describe him as smart, funny, and very sociable, and applaud the positive energy he brings to class and the way he takes charge in class discussions. Unafraid to ask for help and receptive to feedback, he is willing to revise his work to improve his understanding of material. Vince recognizes the importance of his education, and refuses to give up when faced with challenges. On top of all of that, he is kind and polite to classmates and teachers alike. Vince hopes to attend the College of DuPage and study archaeology. In his free time, Vince works at Jewel and enjoys sports and playing video games.

Jason Piskule

Student Services

Jason Piskule was named the Senior Student of the Month by the Student Services Department. Jason is a high honor roll student who most enjoys business education classes and Calculus. Jason was a four-year member of the school’s football program who earned first-team all-conference honors during his career, and also was part of the boys’ basketball program. He constantly demonstrates a high level of maturity, and his helpful nature shines through in his actions and decisions. He always positively supports his peers, and his cheerful attitude is contagious. Above all, Jason’s work ethic is evident as he excels academically and athletically. While he will attend Illinois State University next year, he says his future goal is to make the world a safer place. He works as an attendant at a gym in his spare time.
