Nell Fedko
Freshman
Science
The Science Department cited Nell Fedko as the Freshman Student of the Month. Nell’s academic interests include science and mathematics. Currently she is enrolled in Biology and Integrated Math I Honors. Nell is described as a pleasure to have in class, and a student who not only excels academically but is helpful to her classmates. She goes out of her way to ask for clarification, persists in solving problems until she is able to arrive at the correct answer, and is a critical thinker. A member of the girls’ cross country team, she competed in the 2023 IHSA Class 2A State Finals. Nell’s immediate goals included finishing the school year with straight As. In her free time, she enjoys running, singing, and playing badminton.
Parker Hsu
Sophomore
Business
Parker Hsu was selected by the Business Department as the Sophomore Student of the Month. Parker is a high honor roll performer whose favorite academic interests include digital art and graphic design. His teacher applauds how he not only meets but exceeds expectations in almost every assignment in AP Computer Science Principles. After grasping what he has been asked to do, Parker challenges himself to try a more advanced concept. He often works on independent programming projects when he finishes his work in class, and has shown great potential in the area of computer programming. Parker was a member of the boys’ tennis program last spring. His future plans include pursuing a career in robotics. Parker spends time on YouTube in his free time, where he has racked up thousands of subscribers.
Gabriel Peng
Junior
Mathematics
The Mathematics Department tabbed Gabriel Peng as the Junior Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Gabriel’s favorite classes include AP Physics I and II and AP Chemistry. He has not only demonstrated great academic prowess, but also a genuine interest in his studies. He has been a key contributor on the Mathletes team for three years, and the one you want on your team when facing a challenging problem. Gabriel has been a member of the boys’ swimming team, Link Crew, Student Council, Health Occupations Student Association, and Scholastic Bowl, and has earned induction to Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Science National Honor Society. He plans to pursue a STEM or health-related field. Gabriel enjoys playing piano, watching TV, and traveling.
Maximillian Schuette
Senior
Music
Maxmillian Schuette was named the Senior Student of the Month by the Music Department. Maximillian is a high honor roll student who most enjoys social studies, music, and theatre. Cited as a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist and Illinois State Scholar, he has earned induction to the Tri-M Music Honor Society, Rho Kappa, and the International Thespian Society. He is a baritone in the school choir, has sung the national anthem at football games, and participates in the Naperville Men’s Glee Club. Maximillian has been on stage for several drama and musical productions, advanced to the IHSA Sectional finals as a member of the Speech Team last year, and has been a member of the Scholastic Bowl. He plans to double major in history and music performance, and may pursue a career as a teacher or vocal performer or actor. Maximillian works at Smokey Row Antiques and enjoys painting miniatures for tabletop games.
