Sonia Marusarz
Freshman
Family & Consumer Sciences
Sonia Marusarz was selected as the Freshman Student of the Month by the Family & Consumer Sciences Department. An honor roll student as a middle schooler, Sonia lists Integrated Math II Honors as her favorite class. In addition to attending Polish School, she was a member of the girls’ tennis program this fall. Sonia’s teachers note that she stood out in class from the beginning of the semester with her attentive behavior, attention to detail, and inclusive demeanor with her peers. She is consistently cheerful and willing to help her classmates, and demonstrates empathy and an outstanding work ethic. In the future, Sonia hopes to attend an Ivy League school and study abroad. She enjoys jet skiing and drawing, and works part-time as a banquet server.
Fallyn Arnold
Sophomore
World Languages
The World Languages Department tabbed Fallyn Arnold as the Sophomore Student of the Month. Fallyn says she most looks forward to math and English classes, and currently is enjoying Integrated Math II and English II Honors. Though she just transferred to the school, she already has made an impression on her teachers and classmates. Fallyn is outgoing, friendly, positive, and fearless, and immediately volunteers to answer questions. She works well with classmates and is an asset in the classroom. Fallyn serves as a sophomore class officer, is a member of the girls’ volleyball program, and has been an honor roll student at her previous schools. She hopes to play volleyball at the University of Notre Dame, but has starting on her club team as a more immediate goal. Fallyn enjoys volunteering in her spare time.
Natalie Hamersly
Junior
Art
Natalie Hamersly was cited as the Junior Student of the Month by the Art Department. An honor roll performer, Natalie enjoys a host of art classes, including Advanced Studio Art, Digital Photography, and Ceramics II. A kind and thoughtful student, she thinks of others often and is willing to lend peers her support in class. Natalie grasps new concepts quickly and frequently shows off her creativity through her artwork. A member of the International Thespian Society and Treasurer of the National Art Honor Society, she has served as a crew head in the Drama Club since her freshman year and is a member of the Art Club. Natalie hopes to own a business in the future, and would love to do something in Hollywood. She works part-time as a host at Chili’s.
Maggie Prochaska
Senior
Physical Education
The Physical Education Department cited Maggie Prochaska as the Senior Student of the Month. Maggie is a high honor roll student who most enjoys her special education internship and being part of the Senior P.E. Leadership Program. Her teachers applaud her for continuously going above and beyond when working with students in the Adaptive Physical Education class, and for volunteering her time to help them in Special Olympics. Maggie frequently contributes suggestions to help students complete tasks with modifications, and holds students accountable while ensuring they benefit from a positive learning environment. A National Honor Society student, she volunteers with the EllieStrong Foundation in addition to her work with Special Olympics. Maggie plans to pursue studies in business at the University of Missouri. She previously played in the school’s girls’ basketball and softball programs and is a host at Barrel & Vine.
