Amelia Styrczula
Freshman
Industrial Technology
Amelia Styrczula was named the Freshman Student of the Month by the Industrial Technology Department. Amelia lists Orientation to Industrial Technology, Human Geography, and band among her favorite classes. A member of both the Marching Band and Drama Club, she was on the Theater Tech crew for the fall play and helped assemble the sets. Described as a dedicated student with a passion for hard work, Amelia loves working with her hands and her work consistently is among the best in her class. Her teachers applaud her kindness and energy. Amelia hopes to become an engineer or electrician, and someday hopes to start her own business. She enjoys woodworking and building things, is a member of the Girl Scouts, and also likes reading, listening to music, and being with friends.
Sophomore
English
The English Department tabbed Yehor Pohonchenko as the Sophomore Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Yehor most enjoys his Personal Finance and Athletic Performance classes. He has distinguished himself in English class as a hard-working learner dedicated towards improving his speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills on a daily basis. He’s proud of learning to speak English in just six months. Yehor’s friendly personality contributes to an ideal classroom environment, and he frequently goes the extra mile to help and motivate his classmates. He has been a member of the school’s wrestling program, and has set a goal for himself to make a high school rugby team in Lemont. Yehor works as a lifeguard and will shovel snow this winter.
Meda Malinauskaite
Junior
Center for Academic Vision & Excellence
Meda Malinauskaite was selected as the Junior Student of the Month by the Center for Academic Vision & Excellence (CAVE). Meda is a high honor roll student whose favorite class is Advanced Drawing & Painting. She has been part of the Art Club, Yearbook Club and World Languages Club, has played on the badminton team, and earned induction to the National Art Honor Society. Meda’s teachers note she takes her academics seriously and uses the time and resources in the CAVE to improve her understanding of all her classes. She is prepared and organized, seeks help when needed, and is an outstanding role model for her peers. Meda hopes to study architecture in college. In her spare time, she likes to draw, listen to music, and hang out with friends and family.
Krisha Patel
Senior
Social Studies
The Social Studies Department cited Krisha Patel as the Senior Student of the Month. A high honor roll student, Krisha most enjoys science, but lists AP Psychology and AP U.S. History as her favorite courses. Her diligence and enthusiasm set her apart, and she contributes thoughtfully to class discussions by explaining challenging concepts with clarity and patience. Krisha has served as President of the school’s chapter of the Health Occupations Student Association for two years, and advanced to the HOSA State Finals last spring. She has earned induction to several honor societies, was a girls’ tennis team captain this year, and has been a Lemont Juniorette for five years. Krisha plans on pursuing a pre-med track in college, with hopes of becoming a physician specializing in neurology or women’s health. She enjoys drawing, reading, traveling, volunteering, watching sports with her dad, and spending time with family.
