Lemont High School's athletic program is one of the most successful programs in the Chicagoland area. Competing in the South Suburban Conference, Lemont teams have enjoyed success at the conference, local and state levels.

The school added its first-ever team state championship trophy when Lemont captured the 2009 IHSA Cheerleading Medium Division State Championship. The program has earned six state titles in all (2009, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2017, 2018).
Lemont captured the 2014 IHSA Class 3A Baseball State Championship, marking the school's first-ever team title in a boys' sport. The program won again in 2016.
Nick Bromberek '00 became the first Lemont student-athlete to win an individual state championship when he won the 200-meter dash, 400-meter dash and long jump at the 2000 IHSA Boys' Track and Field State Championship. With only Bromberek competing, Lemont finished as the runner-up at the 2000 IHSA Class A Boys' Track and Field State Finals.
Wrestler Angel Cabral '10 recorded back-to-back state championships when he earned the 285-pound title at both the 2009 and 2010 Class 2A Individual Wrestling State Championships.
Matt Leibforth '10 became the school's first-ever undefeated state champion when he triumphed in the 135-pound weight class at the 2010 Class 2A Individual Wrestling State Championship. Leibforth finished with a 45-0 record.
Kyra Udziela '15 became the first Lemont student-athlete to win an individual title in an IHSA all-classes event when she finished as the individual champion at the 2015 IHSA Girls' Bowling State Finals.
