Known as the ‘Architect of Success’ at Lemont High School… served the school for 42 years, with stints as a teacher, coach and athletic director… served as the head football coach for 17 years, from 1948-64… led the 1950 and 1952 squads to undefeated 7-0-1 marks… his teams won seven games four times (1950, 1951, 1952, 1956), which stood as the school’s single-season record for victories for more than 50 years… also served as the head baseball and boys’ basketball coach… standout football and basketball player at Chicago’s Mt. Carmel High School, and played on city championship teams in both sports… starter for the DePaul University basketball team from 1941-43… World War II veteran… recipient of multiple sportsmanship awards.
