INDUCTED 2005
Served as a teacher at Lemont High School for more than 30 years (1963-94)… took over as head football coach from fellow Hall of Famer William Ryan, and posted a 42-30-2 record over nine seasons from 1965-73… in 1968, guided Lemont to a 4-3-1 record, which was its first winning season since 1956… led the school to Northeast Conference titles in 1969 and 1972… earned Small School “Coach of the Year” accolades… also served as Lemont’s head boys’ golf coach, and as an assistant coach for boys’ basketball, boys’ track and field and wrestling… initiated the school’s weightlifting program… was instrumental in the development of the LHS Booster Club… Director of the Lemont Park District… tabbed with the school’s “Extra Mile Award” in 1992… outstanding three-sport athlete in high school… played tennis at Eastern Illinois University.
