Athletic Hall of Fame: Pam Murray
INDUCTED 2005
Spent 35 years at Lemont High School, serving as a teacher, coach and assistant athletic director… started the school’s softball program in 1981, and served as its coach for 21 years (1981-2001)… racked up 368 wins on the diamond, and guided her program to five conference championships, five IHSA Regional titles and three IHSA Sectional crowns… her 1985 team advanced to the Elite 8 of the IHSA Class A Tournament… the 1988 squad went 29-7 and was the IHSA Class A State Runner-Up… in 1989, her team went 33-7, won the Northeast Conference with a perfect 12-0 league mark, and finished third in the IHSA Class A Tournament… tabbed as the Illinois Girls Coaches Association (IGCA) Coach of the Year in 1988… also served as the head girls’ soccer coach and as an assistant girls’ basketball coach… inducted to the Illinois Coaches Association (ICA) Hall of Fame in 2005… served as the IGCA President, and also had a stint on its board… IHSA girls’ volleyball official... received the “Pride in Excellence” award from Lemont High School in 2005.
