Winningest coach in any single sport in Lemont High School history... ranks among the IHSA’s all-time winningest girls’ basketball coaches with 635 career wins... named to the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2003... Illinois Basketball Coaches Association District 7 Coach of the Year in 1986 (A), 1987 (A) and 2009 (3A/4A)... recorded 34 double-digit victory seasons in 38 years on the bench... posted 13 20-win seasons, including seven in a row from 1979-85, and four in a row from 2005-09... collected his 600th career win in February 2014, becoming just the 13th girls’ basketball coach in state history to reach that mark.... led Lemont to a 23-6 record and a third-place finish in the first-ever IHSA Girls’ Basketball Class A Tournament in 1979-80... guided the 1983-84 team to a school record for victories, as it finished with a 27-3 record and an Elite 8 finish in the IHSA Girls’ Basketball Class A Tournament...led Lemont to five IHSA Regional titles, including one in the 2008-09 season when the Indians finished 25-6 and as the IHSA Sectional runner-up... guided Lemont to a total of 17 conference championships while playing in the Northeast Conference, Suburban Prairie Conference, and South Suburban Conference... coached the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association North All-Stars in 2002... served as an assistant softball coach when Lemont finished as the IHSA Class A State Runner-Up in 1988, and when it finished third in the 1989 IHSA Class A Tournament... served as an assistant football coach for 23 seasons and as an assistant baseball coach for five years... Lemont High School’s long-time Division Chair for Physical Education, Health and Driver Education.
